Question about NetGear WG311T 802.11g/b (wg311tge) Wireless Adapter
I am running XP on an old desktop pc with a Netgear wg311 wireless PCI card installed. It worked fine using a BT HomeHub v1 (the white one) but I have now been "upgraded" to a BT HomeHub 2 (a shiny black one). The homehub seems to work fine when using wired ethernet connection but does not seem to work wirelessly.
The desktop pc with the wireless card can sometimes "see" the BTHomeHubs SSID and when I try to connect it requests a network key (which is printed on the back of the hub and on a plastic card which comes with the router) I enter the key and the PC thinks about this for a while then says unable to connect.
Please help if you can
Check what kind of security you upgraded BThomehub 2 uses. Since the hub supports more security-types then your adapter does, I suspect an incompatibility there.
You can solve it by connecting through cable and changing security to WEP or WPA (not WPA2).
