It depends upon which brand of BIOS is in your computer.
Generally in most cases, the beep code you are getting relates to the video. If your computer is a desktop then It is either faulty or the video card is not seated properly in the expansion slot.
If the video is part of the motherboard (this also applies to a laptop) then it is faulty and it is usually unrepairable or a new motherboard replacement is required.
If the video card is in the desktop computer, then it can be replaced with a new one.

The sequence of one long beep and two short beep when starting computer usually means problem in your display adapter. Make sure your VGA connector is connected properly to VGA out port.
If you are using VGA card (non on-board), you might want to make sure that the card is inserted properly to motherboard.
The beep indicates that system can not initialize display.

I think a few OEM's have developed their own or use Phoenix or AMI beep codes, but for the most part motherboard manufacturers uses the IBM based ones because they are grandfathered in. Beep Code: Description of Problem: No Beeps Short, No power, Bad CPU/MB, Loose Peripherals One Beep Everything is normal and Computer POSTed fine Two Beeps POST/CMOS Error One Long Beep, One Short Beep Motherboard Problem One Long Beep, Two Short Beeps Video Problem One Long Beep, Three Short Beeps Video Problem Three Long Beeps Keyboard Error Repeated Long Beeps Memory Error Continuous Hi-Lo Beeps----------------------------CPU OVERHEATING

On the forum link below says Ram. Read on.

The meaning of beeps at boot depends on the BIOS that is installed. This will give you an idea, but my guess is you have a RAM problem. Try checking that it's properly seated, otherwise you could run a program like Memtest to confirm the problem. Pls rate me. Thanks and Good Luck.

I hear beeping tone in my cpu when i plug it

When the computer makes those funny sound via the system speaker, it's not doing it because it wants to be heard. The computer is trying to talk to the operator/technician and tell them what's wrong.

So here are some codes to give you an idea of what might be wrong with your PC.

Beep sound continus

I went to google and it seems like the beeps can be problems for different problems in the hardware, this is what one message says,  there are lots of computer beeping answers out there: 1 short beep is your BIOS saying "HELLO I'M OK"

Standard Original IBM POST Error Codes

1 short beep Normal POST - system is ok
2 short beeps POST Error - error code shown on screen
No beep Power supply or system board problem
Continuous beep Power supply, system board, or keyboard problem
Repeating short beeps Power supply or system board problem
1 long, 1 short beep System board problem
1 long, 2 short beeps Display adapter problem (MDA, CGA)
1 long, 3 short beeps Enhanced Graphics Adapter (EGA)
3 long beeps keyboard card

Each BIOS company has modified these codes over the years.

can you give me the beeps explanation. All computers have a standard "beep code" this is a standard code to determine the problems in boot up. Long beeps, short beeps, intermittent beeps all mean something. Can you give me your best definition of the beep codes ? long, short, quick successive beeps etc also can you give the nake and model of the computer.
