Creative Gigaworks (Series 1) Left speaker issue

Left speaker has sort of died, no sound at all coming from it except for an occasional faint echo of the sound it should be producing or an intermittent popping noise which also disturbs/cuts audio in the right (control) speaker for about 1 sec. This irritating popping noise occurs about once every 30 seconds. I cannot disconnect the left speaker and just use the right as it will not function individually, nor can I just adjust the speaker balance and only use the right speaker as the popping continues to persist. I have had both speakers dismantled to check for loose wiring, unhooked all external cables, reassembled everything while putting as little tension on the cables as possible. I have disconnected the speakers and tested them on other devices, even completely disconnected from a device and with the power on the popping noise persists. Any ideas/suggestions?

Bemusingly after the PC and speakers had been off for 24 hours, low and behold they were both working fine, sound from both speakers, no bloody popping noise.... for about 10 minutes, Then the problem kicked in once more! Could this be related to the power module? I have now ruled out the left apeaker being at fault as it worked fine for 10 minutes before going funny again.

I have a Creative Gigaworks S700 i have checked both fuses still no power to control box

Stupid question: does the sound still work? it could be the LED just died after continual use (rare, since they last a long time, but not uncommon).
If not... it could be the controlling circuit board died. In which case, unless you have electronics repair experience, it would be probably more worthwhile to just replace the speakers, as pricey a model as it is.

Creative Gigaworks T20 (series I) Left speaker just producing noice, until I turn the Bass knob counterclockwise towards "minus" - then there is sound in the left speaker but even more noice...

The problem that developed with my Creative Gigaworks and other is that occasionally it would not play at all. When the problem occurred, I could eventually get it to work again by turning it on and off several times. I opened up the powered unit (the Right speaker with the controls and found that the wires were really crammed in there, such that a white ribbon wire connector on the bottom was straining to the point of where it was slightly cracked. While playing audio through it, if I touched that wire ribbon, the sound would cut out. So I adjusted the wires slightly to relieve any tension force on that connector and it has not had the problem since. I would open up that unit and check for a similar poor or strained connection. To open the unit, carefully pull off the fabric speaker cover straight off, remove the 4 rubber inserts in the top 4 holes, and remove all 6 philips-head screws in those deeply recessed holes.

Creative Labs GigaWorks T20 Computer Speakers right speaker not working problems

try swapping the speakers around if the problem still persists either the speaker is faulty or
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
or you might have to clean the dust from your computer dust causes static which causes your computer to overheat and all sorts of problems
be sure to wear an anti static earth strap before touching anything inside your computer try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the CPU central processing unit and your SOUND CARD dust causes static to build up in a computer causing it to overheat any many other problems
hope this helps

Subwoofer crakling sound when playing anything.

Hello Ronaldlora
Happy Holidays

Hi, this is a particular problem for this speakers, and subwofer, it is a resistor inside the sub, you have to fix it in a repair shop, or ...sadly, change for another model of Creative Speakers, for example one good one is the 7800 Spk. good ones.
but like I say is a problem that creative labs is aware too.
