Need owners manual for a craftsman band / need help troubleshoot

This saw was my fathers, can not find manual for it. Craftsmans web site is a lost cause. The blade will not stay on the thrust bearings. No matter how I adjust them, I only get about 30 seconds until the blade runs off. I figured the manual should have some basic troubleshooting to hopefully ease my pain.

I have my deceased huband's band saw model 113.248321 and cannot locate the manual. The band saw came off track and I don't know how to open the unit to make the proper adjustments.

Hi, On all bandsaws, it's the pitch of the wheels that determine the position of the blade. The top wheel should be adjustable for pitch, and blade tightness.
The blade should only contact the thrust bearings when you are cutting, not when it is idling. No sense in wearing out the bearings and blade while idling.

Sears manual model103.24550

Check this informative article about installing band saw blade . However, I am in doubt if that article could really help you in properly replacing the blade. But you may use it as your reference. I can refer you also to sears support site or to vintagemachinery . I am not sure how old your band saw is , you may also visit or make posts on different forum sites. If you have questions, you can post your comment to this thread.

Ryobi band saw blade does not cut straight

The side guides should be just off touching the blade (top and bottom) The thrust bearing behind the blade should be just off th blade while it is free running (T & B). The amount of blade exposed to the timber needs to kept to a minimum - like top guide abou 1/4" above timber. Then, correct tension for blade size :)

I am Looking for a miter gauge (which is an accessory) for a old craftsman model 113.244512 band saw. Is there any around out there?

You may look up to ebay or search on google. I actually order band saw parts with but I think they don't have the miter gauge for your bandsaw model.

Grinding noise when it's running

's the bearings that are going bad, you can go on the Hitachi web site, put in model # parts breakdown, which will show you the chop saw torn apart and how it comes apart the bearing that goes bad is the one nearest the blade because it gets greater pressure applied to it, I would replace both bearings while you have it apart. and you can order the bearing while on the web site. Good Luck.

Ryobi 902 bandsaw makes high pitch noise. have adjusted all guides and thrust bearing

The noise might not be coming from the blade, but perhaps from the bearings on the top or bottom wheel. Unplug it and open the covers. With the blade still on, turn the wheels by hand to see if you still get the noise. Then remove the blade and turn the wheels independently by hand. Then plug it back in and run the motor (with the blade still off!). Of course with the blade still off, the load on the wheel bearings will be very light, so maybe you can provide a bit of load by pressing a wheel or or caster against them as you turn them. Be careful. Good luck!
