Question about Miele S334i Vacuum

Open Question

Purchaing a used Miele Ambiente 334i

Is an electric hose standard with this unit I know that it comes with a dual purpose un powered head and that I have to purchase a beater bar for carpet seperately but I cannot tell from the picture whether the hose also has to be purchased for the unit.

Also any site that might have information regarding parts for this unit would be helpful it is older and the Miele site does not even have it listed....

SOURCE: Miele Beater Bar

Something may have come apart under the nozzle cover, you will have to take the cover off to see. Including a picture, maybe it will help.

SOURCE: I have just purchased a used Miele S528 and the

as long as all the wiring on the power nozzle looks secure and it plugs safely into the end of the hose then you should be fine.

Roller will not turn

Conmaur102:

I don't know what type of vacuum you have, but you should check the drive belt to see if it is damaged. Remove the sole plate (at the bottom of the head) and remove the belt and roller (called the beater bar). check the bearings at each end of the beater bar (they must roll easily and smoothly). If they are bound up, pull them off of the ends of the beater bar and remove the hair, strings, and fibers wound around the end of the beater bar. Lubricate the bearings with light machine oil, and spin them by hand until they spin freely. Reinstall the belt and beater bar, and reinstall the sole plate. While you are at it... check the hose and head to make sure they are not clogged.

My vaccum is about 1 yr old and has very little suction, in addition the sweeper is not working

You probably have a broken belt on the beater bar (sweeper) or a string/rope caught in into to cause it not to turn. Last option if it is a cannister type, that the electrical connection in the hose are not connected to the beater-bar unit well.

If suction is bad, you may have a full bag (replace with a fresh one). Alternatively, you may have a clog somewhere along the hose or just inside the unit.

The beater bar of the power head of my canister vacuum Electrolux 2100 turned off.while vacuuming, however the suction was in tact and the hose appears clear.

If you take the carpet head apart and take a look at the belt that drives the beater bar -- if it is stretched or broken, replacing it should resolve the issue. If the belt is in good shape, check the beater bar for debris that could keep it from spinning (I have long hair and it tents to jam up the carpet head of my vacuum on a regular basis).
If neither of the above solutions help, you might have an issue with a dead motor, or no power to the carpet head. Check that all of your connections are nice and tight and give it another shot. If it is still not working, I recommend bringing it to a repair shop to see if it would be cheaper to fix the part or buy a new one.

The brush on my Electrolux Versatility will not spin. You can spin it by hand, but the motor will not spin it.

Hello, W/D here.
Since the brush will not spin, but the motor works, either the belt has come off of the motor shaft, the belt is worn past it's useful life, or the beater bar has seized.
1. Turn off the power (unplug).
2. Remove the bottom plate. With the plate off, use your finger to test the tension of the belt. It should be tight, and roll when you roll the beater bar by hand.
3. Remove the beater bar and belt. Inspect the beater bar, particularly by the bearings. Remove any twine, hair, etc.
4. Inspect the belt for abnormal wear. If there is any significant wear in the belt, replace it.
5. Reassembly is in the reverse order. Place the belt on the beater bar. While holding the beater bar close to it's position, place the belt on the motor shaft. Rotate the beater bar bearings to their proper position and install the beater bar. Replace the cover plate.

Best regards, --W/D--

Power head turns on and off as the unit is vacuuming

Probably not hose but more then likely is a problem within your wand. Try connecting your hose handle directly to your powerhead and see if you can get consisten power. I work in customer service for electrolux and more then likely it is in fact the wand

The brush rotates on my dyson slim but there is no suction. though there is suction from the hose... has anyone any ideas????

Un-plug the machine first. Turn the unit over and remove the bottom plate. Check for and remove any debris in, around, or behind the beater bar assembly. While you're in there, look at the beater bar ends where the bearings sit. and clean any debris, hair, etc, from those areas as well.

Connecting hoses on Kirby G4

The hose attaches in place of the beater-bar head unit. To remove the head unit, lift the headlight assembly, then turn the square gray Kirby emblem counter-clockwise 3/4 of the way around until the red triangle on the square portion aligns with the red triangle on the base unit (this disengages the belt). Then flip the silver metal fastener that was underneath the headlight to release the head unit and remove the head unit. To attach the hose, simply line it up so that the safety button is engaged by the hose assembly and then use the metal fastener under the headlight to secure the hose to the base unit.

Power to operate beater bar

Hello,
I am taking ashot at providing you with enough information that you will be able to work thru your problem with it.Here is a link to a standard installation kit http://www.thinkvacuums.com/instructionas.pdf
and this one
http://www.thinkvacuums.com/easyflo/install_wo.htm

If I understand your question, the two low voltage terminals should be shorted together in order to activate the 120VAC to the brush motor. As rge drawing indictaes, you may also press in the two terminals at the vacuum wall receptacle to short the low voltage circuit .. to activate the 120VAC to the motor. If you are measuring across the terminals and see 2.3 volts ..than that may be normal but try measuriung from each terminal to ground and see what you get.. I believe the low voltage circuuitry is 24VAC... Try these installation documents to see if they help you solve your problem.. Hope this helps..

Vacuum turns on and suction in hose works, beater bar won't turn

If you hear the motor in the head running and the beater bar isn't rotating, you probably need a drive belt. With the power off, make sure you can rotate the beater bar freely by hand, if it isn't bound up.. then locate and remove the baseplate screws to gain access to the beater bar itself, you'll see a drive belt pulley system and chances are, a broken belt. Replace it with a new one by pulling the beater bar assembly out of the housing and plcing the belt onto the motor shaft pulley as well as the beater bar pulley.. nest the beater bar back into the holder and reinstall the cover. Hope that helps !
