Computer don't start,

If it doesn't start at all, check motherboard for a short by unplugging the processor power cable (4 pin normally), and turn the computer on. If the fans start rotating, it is probably a short. If that isn't the problem, check for cables that should be connected, and test the processor in another computer. Hope it works (it did for me)

Try safe mode with networking..
To do this, make sure your computer is shut down.
Ok, now start the computer and tap the F8 key till you see a black and white screen of text. > Start in Safe Mode with networking.
If the computer starts and seems to run, then your computer is infected and needs to be cleaned. Let me know and I can give you some ideas on software that can help clean it up..

My v5 571 runs extremely slow ;I won't start; still diagnosing your pc on screen for over one hour; have no idea what's going on.

It seems that your OS has registry problem, so I would suggest you to fix it properly with the help of these tips given below:-

- Find how to start PC in safe mode, normally Pressing F8 key when windows starts up.( Google it)
- In Safe Mode create a new user, with administrator privileges and protect it with password.
- Remove unwanted softwares & programs.
- Empty the Recycle Bin.
- Download reliable program Reginout(Google it) and scan OS registry errors and fix it.
- Restart your PC normally and log on to the new account created.

Stay Happy :-)

Computer always starts in safe mode

Your OS might have been set on Diagnostic Startup. Verify this setting:

Start> Run> enter msconfig
On System Configuration Utility window, on General tab, make sure you have it on Normal Startup or anything other then Diagnostic Startup.

Emachine T2385 Won't Boot in Normal Mode past Windows XP Screen

The first thing I would check is your video card (usually driver) problem. Start windows in safemode with networking. If this problem has occured after updating the video card driver you may try rolling back the driver to a previous version, otherwise try

Once windows starts you'll want to go to the start menu and find and click run. In the text box enter the command "devmgmt.msc" and hit enter and the device manager should appear. Look for display adapters and left click the + and you should see your video card. Right click the video card and select properties from the drop down menu. Select thr driver tab. Now if the problem had occured after updating the driver, choose rollback the driver from the menu. If not try selecting the update driver option. After updating/rolling back the driver you'll want to try restarting in normal mode.

If it still won't start in normal mode you can try troubleshooting the video card under the general tab in properties, though to be honest I've found this rarely usefull but it might help you. Otherwise you'll want to make sure that your videocard is enabled in BIOS. A quick totorial of BIOS if needed http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/bios-beginners,1126.html.

Otherwise it's likely a physical issue with the graphics card. Since you've tried reseating the card already it may be that the card is damaged and will need to be replaced.

During start up i receive press ctrl, alt, delete to start pc

That is normal for a companies Windows Professional installation. When you hold down CTRL and ALT then press DELETE another window will pop up asking your login name and password. In the older days, CTRL, ALT and DELETE would restart your computer, but now they use that in Professional versions of windows.

My startup page on my computer takes forever. How to speed it up

If you're running Vista that's normal.

Here’s a quick procedure that helps speed windows vista startup:

  • Click the Windows Start button
  • Right click Computer
  • Click Properties
  • Click Advanced System settings
  • In the Advanced Tab, Start and Recovery, click Settings
  • In the Time to display operating systems list setting, set a 5 second value instead of 30.
  • Click Apply
Now, Reboot your PC. You’ll notice a boost in the performance of the startup process.

Asus P3V 4X DIP Switch problem

Hello. This is more a software related issue. If it were from the processor itself you couldn't power on or received weird error during Power ON Self Check. If the processor was overcloaked windows will indead try to start but fail. Therefore, if you know you haven't overcloaked the processor you should try to reinstall a clean copy of windows by booting the computer with the windows installation CD. Hope this helps, good luck and always remember to rate the solutions received from this site :)
