Cant find webcam file

What software are you using to activate the webcam? If you want a simple webcam software try YAWCAM: http://www.yawcam.com/download.php

Open the windows explorer, and click on to Computer.

Find "Program files x86" - click it twice

Now scroll down to "Video web camera" - click it twice

Look in the window on the right, and find "webcam"

using your middle finget, I mean right click it and in the window that opens goto
"Send To" and pick desktop(create shortcut).


As long as the above mentioned files exist, you should have your webcam shortcut back on your desktop.

hi try check your webcam driver on system properties and also try reinstall driver software.

there is an option in that particular problem. find the shorcut key in desktop of your laptop...or go to the program files folder find pc camera double click and then click amcap looks like a video cam and then try to add the shortcut in your laptop desktop...so that it is easy for you to turn on your webcam.

If you have lost the Desktop icon to launch the logitech toolbar
Click 'Start'
Click 'All programs'
Find 'Logitech' and click on it to open the file
Right click on the 'Logitech Software' file with the icon and select - 'Send To - Desktop Create shortcut'

Try one of the function keys which has a picture of a camera on it. Press FN+the correect F key

Click Start
Click All Programs
Search for 'Lifecam' or 'Microsoft lifecam' and the logo should appear alongside the software
Right click on the logo and select 'Send to - desktop create shortcut'
or
>Start > Computer > Local Disk (C) > Program files > Lifecam - expand file - right click on logo and create shortcut

Start-->All Programs->Your application. If it works, create a new shortcut on desktop. If it does not work, the application has been uninstalled, or it folder has been displaced.

You can use Add/Remove program in control panel to verify if it is still installed.

To create shortcut, point mouse cursor in a free area, Right Click >>New>>Short Cut. Click the submenu. A create shortcut window appears and you use the browse button to travel to the application folder in Programs Files, and select the executable file (has an extension .exe) and click OK.

click on your start button (usually the window logo on bottom left side of your screen)
then click on search then type webcam and press enter . you should get a list and you should be able to click on an item to open web cam. if this works i suggest to repaet theses steps but then copy and paste it somewhere easier to find.

Why not in windows explorer. Right click on My Computer > Explore. It should list your cam below Hard disk Drive , CDROM drive, as Scanner and Camera as USB Camera / Composite Device. Dbl click to start the Cam
