Press ctrl alt del together then try to enter your password. If it doesn't work. restart your computer by holding down the power button for 10 seconds or until the computer turns off. Restart and tap F8 repeatedly as soon as the light comes on. Choose 'Last known good configuration' using your keyboard. Then press enter. Try if you can login now.

call the dell technical support... they have a tool there to reset the bios password, with affecting any of your files... you will just have to give the code that will be showing up in the screen..

Sometimes the dell inspiron 1525 touchpad works ok (never like it should) and other times it won't move. It freezes up and just won't move. I waste so much time trying to get that arrow to move around...

You will need to go to www.support.dell.com there you will have to download the corect drivers from the touchpad,as it would seem that you have a driver problem. If not you might have to replace the palmrest.
Good Luck

My touchpad jumps around or the arrow won't move

Keep the palms of your hands away from your touchpad.
Just being "close" to the touchpad is enough to move the mouse-pointer.

How do i get the scroll on the side of my dell inspiron 1525 to work again?

You will need to go to the support section over at Dell and enter in your service tag from the bottom of the laptop. You then need to look in the "drivers" section and download the Dell Synaptics Touchpad drivers and install them. That should bring your scrolling area of the touchpad back to life.

Dell Inspiron E1405 Keyboard and touchpad stop responding when bootup gets to Windows password screen. Any ideas as to why? Thanks in advance.

could be a problem with drivers. Try to start windows in safemode. To start in safemode keep pressing F8 imediattly after the laptops starts and will show up a screen, choose safe mode. If in safemode works use system resotre and restore to an earlier time when worked.

Inspiron 1525 keyboard and touchpad locked at bootup. Unable to enter user password to load Vista. HELP!

My friend has one of these and I really Dont know why but VIsta is always the Operating system that causes this.
Try this: at the log in screen press the F9 key see if it unlocks. unfortunately i doubt that that worked but hey it was a try
Now
try this: at the bottom of your laptop there should be a lever that releases the battery (remove the battery) leave it out and use your power cord only to boot the system. that usually works for me.
Hope that fixes your problem. Thanks for posting on Fixya.com
