Re: DVD Player

Here is the link for the user manual if you need it; I am assuming that power is on and you have tried the eject button. If you feel confident to try, then unplug machine and take off the top cover (looks like 5 screws at the back and then it should lift forward and up (just possibly the volume knob will need pulling off too, but maybe not) being careful not to touch anything inside, plug the machine back in and try eject and see if anything moves inside at all. sometimes cables can get bent in such a way as to block the tray form coming out. If you get nothing at all then i suspect either the tray drive motor is faulty, or the section of the power supply that powers it has failed. Just have a look in the back left corner where the power cable goes into the box and see if there are any fuses and check them. try plugging the machine into a different power socket in a different room just in case the supply voltage is the problem, if that works then call an electrician. Hope this helps :)

How to unlock a dvd player

  1. Locate your DVD player's brand name and model number. These can usually be found on the box the DVD player came in, or on a sticker close to the video inputs or on the bottom of the DVD player.
  2. Have your remote handy. You will need your remote to enter the input codes into your DVD player.
  3. Locate a Web site that can help you with the codes you need for your particular DVD player, since all DVD players have different codes. Try dvdexploder or, they both have an extensive list of codes for almost every kind of DVD player manufactured.
  4. Enter your brand name and model number when prompted to do so on the Web site. If your particular model number is not available, try searching under the brand name. Sometimes you will be able to find a model number that is close to your DVD player's model number.
  5. Enter the codes into your DVD player with your remote. Be sure the DVD player's door is open-almost all codes require the door to be open.
  6. Test the player and that should be it.

RCA RTD315 Theater System The DVD Player recently

My identical system has exactly the same problem as the one described by dipaola, above. When I insert a DVD, the DVD carriage pops back open after a few seconds. In fact, mine won't stay closed even without a DVD in it, as long as the system is set to play a DVD. I'd like an answer to the big Q - Is there anything I can do about this, or should I just find another DVD player to hook into the system?

Dvd stuck in unit

Look at the door of the player. There should be a small hole on the door. stick the end of a paper clip into the hole and that should release the door. Kind of how you would open a locked bedroom door lock.

DVD won't play and door won't open

Since you purchased a Bose system, I can only assume that you know nothing about electronics.  Therefore, I would suggest you take it to a repairman rather than try to open it.
Or, you could just buy something that isn't Bose for 1/10th the price and get twice the quality.
If you must be adventurous, you can open the unit and try to figure out what is jammed up and manually remove the DVD.  Again, if you know nothing about electronics, this could get you very hurt or killed.

Bose dvd player door want open

You just unplug the cord form the wall for 4 hours, after 4 hours plug it again. The purposed of unplugging is to dissipitate the stored current in the memory IC so it will gone.

Good luck:

My dvd player is locked

If you are unable to get the tray of the dvd player open either the player will have a hole in front for you to stick a (I use a straightened out paper clip) into and press in towards the dvd player. It will manually open the drive so you can retrieve your dvd or there will be enough of a lip on the tray door you can grab it and pull it open manually. Then I would try unplugging the player and waiting a few minutes and plugging it back in and you might get lucky and it may never happen again. Good luck . Hope it works.
