Question about Olympus Stylus 1010 Digital Camera

1 Answer

I have an Olympus 1010. I took a few pics of my son, changed his outfit, and now all the pics are white, like they are overexposed. I have played with every setting on the camera with no luck

    Good day to everyone...

I got almost the same problem but much more severe. My camera flash is not working accordingly after 3 weeks after the date of purchased . The sometime not working even though its is under "fill" mode. Some other time, its flashed with abnormally high intensity of light, resulting the over-exposed photos. In average, out of 10 shots, Only 3 photos were successfully taken in good working condition. I've tried to reset back to the factory setting but the problem is not resolved until now. Please share with me should anyone have any solution. Thank You.

What happens if you try to reset the camera back to its factory settings. Does it still overexpose the images? TO reset the camera go to Menu - left arrow to Reset - press Ok - up arrow to Yes and press Ok. The camera will now be back in factory settings. If the images are still overexposed, it may be a repair issue with the image processing functionality.

Olympus stylus 1010 can i delete all pics at once?

Yes, by formatting the card. In fact, you should format the card each time you finish downloading your pics to your computer. This will prevent future problems with the card.

You'll find "Memory Format" at the top of the Setup menu.

Blue tint to all my photos

You may have the white balance set to something other than "auto white balance". If the pics look ok on the camera and on your computer, but the prints are blue, I would suspect the printer.

I have an olympus stylus 1010 and know how to delete pics individually, but how can i do an automatic delete of all pics on my camera? thanks!

If you have the user manual you can refer to page 33 where it talks about the All Erase function. Or you can just format the memory card which is a permanent deletion of all of the images that have been written to the memory card.

Time for new flash??

the camera's light sensor or metering system, for correct flash exposure is no longer working, that's why your shots is either black or white (overexposed or underexposed) the flash firing has loose its control because of the defective sensor, it now only depends on the charge current of the flash capacitor. If you'll wait longer time the charge is maximum picture result will be overexposed(white), and vice versa, less charge, dark result, have the flash assy replaced. Daylight no problem, it doesnt use the flash circuitry, thanks
