Pioneer DEH3400Ub no power to head unit

I have just puchased one of these to replace my kenwood stereo, i thought it would just be a case of swapping the units over but i am not able to get any power through to the new stereo, i have taken it to halfords who checked the unit in store and it works fine and they have no idea what could be causing the problem. Can anybody help please?

SOURCE: No Sound

power the unit down totally from the wall socket to allow it to reset. It may have had a processor scramble in the outage and not selecting audio inputs correctly.

SOURCE: Pioneer VSX-94TXH locks up and requires me to remove power at outlet to resume working

I had the same thing with mine. After a couple of weeks in the local repair shop, it was determined that the main? in-put chip on the back of the front panel was bad. Had it replace for about $125 out the door and it's been working great since.

Pioneer DEH-3300 UB

Apparently, you have no power at the 12 volt battery/memory wire at the radio harness of the vehicle. This wire is white with blue in color.
Also, based upon your description, you have connected the battery/memory wire and the accessory wire of the radio to the 12 volt accessory (switched) wire of the vehicle. This wire is white with red in color.
Check the radio/ stereo fuse of the car. You may have blown the fuse during your installation.
You have no memory at the radio because when you turn off the key, you lose all power to the radio.
Also, I mentioned the wire colors just in case you used an aftermarket radio wiring harness. Make sure that the yellow from the Pioneer unit is going to the battery power source and, the red of the Pioneer is going to the switched power source.

KDC-MP4032 head unit wont turn on

hi, seeing that your kenwood showed up "protect" you may have an audio circuit/amplifier fault within the unit. try resetting the unit to see if unit comes "on" again. if the unit comes on and protect flashes again, then you definitely have an internal audio circuit fault. if not then check all power connections(yellow and red wire voltages, as well as ground connection), as well as the condition of the face pins!

I have a 1998 Pioneer head unit to put in my car. the #is 1256237179. Is There anyway to get a diagram to see how to hook it up?

Hi there,

Well you can please follow the below steps -
1. Disconnect your car battery. It is vitally important to your safety that you never work on any type of electronic in your car with the battery still connected, as this puts you at risk for electrocution.
2. Remove the old stereo by taking off all the dashboard panels surrounding your stereo, sliding out your old stereo head unit, and unplugging all the wires that are connected to the head unit. Discard the old stereo.
3. Take your Pioneer car stereo head unit and plug each of the positive wires from your car speakers to the positive terminals on the head unit. Take all of the negative speaker wires and connect them to the negative terminals on the head unit.
4. Attach the stereo's black ground wire to a metal bolt or screw located near where the stereo is mounted in the dash.
5. Connect all of the ignition power wires to your Pioneer stereo.
6. Take the harness connector and plug it into your car stereo. Now plug the antenna into the back of your head unit.
7. Slide the stereo back into the dash, screw it in place, and replace the dashboard pieces you removed earlier.
8. Reconnect your car battery, turn the car on and test out your new Pioneer car stereo. Please post comments for more help or information..........

Good Luck!!

Thanks

Can't fit subwoofer amp leads to pioneer DEH-2000MP Head unit

pioneer head units only distribute like 200 rms or so to the speakers. you might have to find a blue maybe even blue with white striped wire and nick it just enough to tie your amp wire around it. tape it up and see if it works.

Subwoofer blew up my car stereo

You didn't mention an amplifier. Did you try to connect your subwoofers directly to your head unit? If so, that is why you no longer have a working head unit, unfortunately. You have to have an external amplifier to drive those subwoofer, not 22 watts per channel from an in dash stereo. You're correct in your assessment that putting the subs in again would cause the same thing. Find a reputable shop that can sell you and properly install the equipment you need to get you up and running again. Sorry for your loss.
