Sounds like the element is still getting a feed from the thermostat, even though it is in the Off position
If it has a temp indicator light and this is still glowing then you definately have a faulty thermostat.
The other possibility is that there is an earth fault on the element, and this could cause problem.
Plz rate this solution.
Thanks.

Oven will not turn on after self cleaning has finished

If electric turn the oven to bake and look at the bottom element. If if does not turn red hot, it may be defective.
If gas, turn to bake and watch the igniter to see if it get red hot. If not, it may be defective.

ON AN OVEN DOES BAKE MEAN BOTH ELIMENT HOT

hi,
depends on the manufacturer. on newer ovens the oven will run both elements to get you preheated quickly. once preheat has been established it switches back to the bottom element only.

When i use the oven it stays hot after turned off. front panel, right under the touch buttons gets very hot.

This oven has an oven vent that comes out under the control panel usually to the right. Very poor design as this vents heat into the controls and can cause a control board failure, especially during a self cleaning cycle. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

Oven getting warm but not hot?

If it is an electric fan assisted oven, and the fan is working o/k, \then you need to fit a new oven element., usually located at rear of oven compartment.

On a Amana EvenAir convection Plus oven the convection blower comes on during the regular bake cycle.

There is a blower on the top of the oven, which turns on when the oven is hot enough. If the warm/hot air is coming out from top vent corners - this is the blower working. Even if you turn the oven off at that moment, the blower will still work until the oven cools down. This is normal.

THE OVEN WILL NOT HEAT

How old is the unit? Sometimes the igniter can glow but if it isn't drawing the right amount of power to open the gas valve then that is the safety that is built into the oven... So unless the power requirement is meant gas valve will not light. Even though the hot surface igniter is glowing red hot. chances are the igniter is bad. Let me know what turns up. ken
