Hi, I have had this camera from new and just lately the lcd is giving problems in that it does not show anything when attempting to take a picky.
However if you are to press the screen at the top left hand corner it appears and you can shoot your pickies. This becomes tiresome!
Is it a simple fix or time to move on and buy a new one?
Other than that it has been a really good camera for the last 3 years or so.
Any help much appreciated,

Re: fuji finepix 6800
The problem will just be a loose/damaged connector in the area where you are pressing, should be able to be easily fixed by anyone who knows how to open it up. Try your local camera repair place and get them to quote - it shouldn't be much labour or parts.
Hope this helps :)

the solution......you should click the button only once.....then the picture will be taken only once.....if you press the button and keep it for some time it will take multiple pictures.....for taking a photo just click a button once......this will solve your problem.....if the problem still persists then the problem is in your camera.....that you can repair it by giving it in the company of the camera.....this will solve your problem 100%........
I have the same camera and have devised this solution. Remove batteries, leave for about 10 mins then replace batteries ( make sure they are in good condition, Cover the aperture whilst switching it on and it should work - mine did on the 2nd attempt.
Are you sure the computer s 'seeing 'the camera this time.
USB can be a bit iffy.
Leave the camera plugged in but switched off.
Repbbit the computer and switch on camera
Check 'My computer' to see in there is a 'New drive' indicated.
Here's the official letter from Fuji:...............
FUJI PHOTO FILM U.S.A., INC. announces that some of the FinePix A303, F410, and F700 digital camera models may develop a problem with the CCD imaging sensor. However, the problem affects a limited number of units and may not occur in all cameras.
The symptoms are captured images that appear completely black, have a purplish cast or multi- colored distortions. These symptoms would be seen on the camera LCD monitor when the camera is in the shooting mode or during playback. A limited number of these models will have these problems.
Your camera is certainly giving the signs of a bad CCD but it's not on Fuji's list.
But don't worry I had my 602Z fixed for free out of warranty and there's plenty of reports of other Fuji models not listed being repaired.
Email Fuji and explain what your camera is doing and as long as you have the warrabty card and proof of purchase they should help you out. GOOD LUCK
