Thanks for all your help, if you need any audio video advice, let me know.

  • psgolfer70 Dec 15, 2008

What I would do first is to check the wiring and ensure that maybe something hasn't clipped it. Do you have a tester for line voltage or continuity?

You may have received a faulty pair of speakers too. Try hooking them up to a shelf stereo system and see if they crackle or pop.

My guess is that it's something with the wiring if you have tried another pair and still have the same crackling issue.

Lastly, to get you by for now, turn your fader to your rears and don't use the fronts till you have diognose what exactly the problem is.

    Good luck

I can't think of anything else other than trying another pair of speakers for your car and try a bench test with your existing speakers to try and determine if it's speakers/wriing/or deck/.

    Good luck.

Also, everything seems fine with our washer. I did a reset on it yesterday (just left unplugged for 1/2 hour) and manually released the door. Now it works like a charm. There was a brief hickup with 5 mins left in the cycle, error code f11, just hit cancel and resume, wash finished fine.

Tell me, the washer we have is the Kenmore Elite Front loader model on the recipt is 45862, is that basically the same as what we have been discussing?

    Cheers

Glad I could help you. Keep me in mind for any future problems you may have. I'm familiar with your washer model as I have worked on it numerous, numerous times and I personally own one.

It's funny that you are offering audio advice, because I am having a problem with some stereo speakers in my car. I have a factory installed stereo in my Hyundai Santa Fe. The front two door speakers make a cracking and popping noise (especially with the base turned up). I tried replacing the speakers (thinking they had gone bad), but the problem continued with the new ones. Is this a simple grounding issue? Or, do I have something going on internally with the stereo? I'm stumped. Can you provide me with an assist?

Yes, I have a multimeter to do continuity checks with. I have already set the fade to the rear speakers for the time being. I was hoping to avoid tearing the dash apart to trace the wires, but it looks like I may have to in order to determine if I have any wire chaffing anywhere. Thank you for your reply.

My control light blinks and beeps when pushing the start button. I have already replaced the door lock and switch assembly. Door lock light does not illuminate at any time.

Hello friend, thank you for your post!

Based off the information you have provided it sounds like it could be a possible issue within the control panel of your Frigidaire washer. I understand that you have replaced your door lock and switch assembly but it could also be an issue with the keypad of your appliance. I would recommend having a professional come out to properly diagnose your appliance to avoid unnecessary part purchases. I hope this is helpful. - Matt

PAU error code comes on when iI test it it shows e41 door lock

Hello, welcome to FixYa

Based on the info you provided, specifically the E41 error, It sounds like the unit is detecting an unlocked door, loose wire, or the control itself is bad. (E41= Shorted or open. Defective door lock assembly.Around 1500Ohms. Defective control board.)

The PAU simply indicates the control thinks it has been paused...that may be just a side affect of the door lock assembly.

Here's how to check...

**Unplug the unit from the wall first...safety first**

Remove the door lock assembly and measure the resistance of the PTC. Should get a reading of around 1500ohms.

Attached here is a great tutorial for accessing the assembly for testing and replacing.

Let me know if you need further assistance going forward or if anything is not clear.

Thank's again for visiting FixYa today. Good luck.

I have a Affinity frigidaire front load washer and need to replace part number 131763202. The model number of the washer is ATF6000FS1 Thank you in advance

Disconnect power then open the door and remove the spring-hoop assembly that secures the door gasket. Peel off the part of the door gasket near the door lock and switch assembly. Remove the screws securing the door lock and switch assembly to the front panel then pull the door lock and switch assembly out. Transfer the wires to the new door lock and switch assembly then install into place. Put the door gasket back and secure it with the spring-hoop assembly. Click on the link below for the detailed procedure.

My machine wont start ,unless i really have to slam the door real

Either the switch striker/actuator on the door is worn or the door lock/switch assembly on the right side of the door opening is faulty. It is recommended to replace both parts when one is faulty or worn. The door lock/switch assembly is part number 1094190 and costs about $55. The switch striker/actuator is part number 906446 and costs about $5.

Door Lock/Switch Replacement Procedure
  • Unplug the machine.
  • Open the machine's door.
  • Locate the retainer spring of the seal boot retaining hoop at the bottom of the door opening.
  • Stretch the retainer spring apart then remove the retaining hoop.
  • Ease the edge of the seal boot off the lip of the door opening near the door lock/switch assembly. Remove enough of the seal boot to gain access to the door lock/switch assembly behind the front panel of the washer. Be careful not to tear the seal boot. It will cause water to leak out of the machine.
  • Remove the three screws securing the door lock/switch assembly to the front panel.
  • Slightly lift the door lock/switch assembly, pull it away from the front panel then pull it out of the machine.
  • Disconnect the wiring harness and connect the new door lock/switch assembly.
  • Reinstall the new door lock/switch assembly and the seal boot in reverse order of the procedure above.

My washer shows a F-11 code or a dl code and I have had service out for this. They say it needs a new computer board which will be around $700. I am so frustrated with this machine and how much I paid for...

The F11 error is a Serial Communication Error.
Communication between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the Motor Control Unit (MCU) cannot be sent correctly.

  • Check Wire Harness connectors to the MCU, the motor, and Central Control Unit (CCU)
  • Check the Drive system for any worn or failed components
  • Check MCU
  • Check CCU
  • Check Motor
  • Check Wire Harness
The DL code is a Door Lock Error
A Door Lock Error occurs if the door cannot be unlocked. It will try to lock it 6 times before displaying the error.

  • Door Lock Mechanism broken or removed from the Door
  • Check Door Lock/Switch Assembly
  • Check the wire harness connections to the Door Lock/Switch Assembly and Central Control Unit (CCU)
  • Door Lock/Switch Assembly Failure

$700 for this is a crazy price so try some other repair people.

Front loader door unlocks during cycles with door lock light on.

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

My washer door will not lock

"F22" is a Door Lock error code. It's usually an indication that your Door latch assembly is damaged or malfunctioning. Before assuming you have a fault, however, the manufacturer recommends unplugging the washer for AT LEAST 30 minutes in an attempt to reset the Central Control Unit (CCU). This is the main computer for the washer. In many cases, this is all that is required to corrected momentary glitches. If the problem reoccurs, your next step would be to inspect the door lock to make sure all the electrical connections are in place. If the electical connections are good, it is recommended you replace the door latch. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r587965-door_latch_replacement_fdl_error

Keep in mind, you have a newer model washer. The error code you are indicating is the same as the "Fdl" error on older model washers. The procedures for replacing the latch are the same, however. Another method of replacing the latch involves, removing the top panel of the washer and working from the top behind the the front panel. You can use this method if you prefer.

A replacement door latch can be purchased at any of the following websites: searspartsdirect.com, pcappliancerepair.com, repairclinic.com and appliancepartspros.com. Any one of these sites offer great service with competitive pricing. So...check them all out for the best price.

I hope you find this information helpful. Let me know if you require additonal assistance.
