Sanyo Ds25330 w/intermittent sound

Picture has been fine, surround sound works fine, it is louder in DVD than TV/VCR mode but regular TV sound is intermittent. I have tried compressed air, taking the back of checking connections to the speaker...i know nothing when it comes to tearin' into diodes & transitors. i need diagrams for that.

SOURCE: TV picture flickers

If your DVD player is separate from your tv, you might have a loose cable plug or connection. Depending on the type of flicker you have, a vertical circuit loose connection would cause this. If you could connect it to a cable or antenna it might tell you where the problem is located. A faulty circuit in the DVD might cause this too. Stargazer

SOURCE: TV will not stay on

when you turn the TV off do you see abreif white line acroos the screen and do you feel the static on the fornt of the set when it comes on? If so
This is an easy repair if you've ever soldered and would not be too costly for a repair shop to do it for you. The problem is a bad Vertical Output IC (usually mounted on an aluminum heat sink with the part on it labeled LA78?? ) and 1 or 2 bad capacitors. Some times you can even fix the problem by re-soldering the contacts of the IC- To find the IC follow the 4 wires that come from the Yoke (which is a contained coil of wires slipped over the neck of the picture tube(s)) back to the board. 2 of the wires go to the horizontal o/p and 2 to the Vertical o/p the thinner gauge wires are for the vertical.

RCA model rtd3266

Quick and dirty:

From the back of the RCA unit make sure you are using the auxiliary input jacks to connect to the output jacks on the TV.

You will need to go into the setup menu on your TV to select an external sound system and finally you'll need to select auxiliary on the RCA unit to hear the sound from your TV.

Hope this helps,

No 5.1 surround when adding a Philips upconvert player to the San

Sounds like you are getting analog signals from your componet cables and a true digital input from your HDMI into your tv.

However that unit is Analog audio input x 1 only.
So i dont think your going to get true digital surround sound.
The problem being

Sanyo =

Inputs: Analog Audio x 1 Outputs: Composite x 1 · S-Video x 1 · Component x 1 · Digital Audio Coaxial x

Surround Sound Not Playing For TV Programs

Greetings jdm12,

I can understand your problem, I have some what of the same issues with my home theater setup when watching events. One of the only suggestions I can make is adjusting the "Dolby Pro Logic II Mode". After reviewing your owners manual it appears you should be able to change the mode by pressing the PL II Mode button found in the lower keypad on your remote. It appears the options you should have are Music - Cinema - Pro Logic - Matrix - Stereo. You may want to try Music or Stereo when watching your events. In Stereo setting it should provide sound out of the front speakers and sub-woofer only. In Music, there are more processing that is done so you could hear more then just the front speakers.

I hope this makes your next your next PPV Party a big hit!

NO sound and cable signals

Looks like someone sold you a unit only partially working.

You may need to have the main board replaced, which is likely why the previous owner sold it.

My solution would be: Buy an inexpensive surround system and a VCR, Use the VCR as your tuner, and plug the audio output from the VCR into your surround system.

This way you will have a tuner (the VCR), and sound through the surround amplifier. You can also plug the audio output from your DVD player direct into the surround amplifier. This solution would likely run you less than half the cost of replacing the main board in the TV.

DVD/VCR connect to TV sound but no picture

I am sorry to say that this does not sound like a simple solution for your problem. It is hard to be sure without examining the situation but, If the video comes on breifly and, then goes away it sounds like something is heating up and, then opening up and, disrupting your video. It could be something in the stabilization. You will need to refer this problem to a qualified repair technician. If you want to keep the TV and, since it does work in TV mode I would suggest that if you want to use the RCA type jacks to connect a VCR/DVD or what have you that you get an RF modulator to connect thru the co-ax. This way you can connect your Cable/satelite to the co-ax connector and, your VCR/DVD player to the RCA on the Modulator. These are availible at radio shack and can also be found on ebay. I hope this helps at all. don359@verizon.net

Tvs usualy have a few ways to hook them up. One is a coax cable this is the silver one in the back that you screw in a cable. The second are RCA cables these are the ones that are yellow, red and white. Yellow is always the video and white and red are for audio. If your using the coax cable your tv needs to be on channel 3 or 4 you may have to force the tv to go to that channel by pushing 03 on the remote. If you are using the Rca cables then you need to change the tv to "video 1" or "video 2" this changes the tv from tunner mode to aux input mode. Most DVD players dont have a coax out so you have to use the rca plugs. Some tvs have the rca plugs on the front (video 2) and the back (video 1) or line in. Some tvs have line out also so you need to figure out wich way you have it hooked up. Do a search for the model of your tv and it should show a diagram on how to hook it up.
