The wire should be a green or a light green. You can look for it behind the kick panel or the sill plate on the drivers side. it should be in with the wires running towards the back of the truck.

Rear tailights bulbs replaced still no running lights 97 Chevy k2500. Solutions?

Several possibilities. Have you checked to see if current is present at the bulb sockets? If not, trace the wires backwards to the next plug in connector and check for current there and so on. I assume you have checked fuses, but you may go all the way to the light switch which itself can fail. Good luck.

I'm installing a gps tracking unit on one of our landscape trucks. It's a 97 gmc/chevy 2500. I need to connect it to the ignition(12v dc) and constant power (12v dc)

your looking for an orange wire for your ignition and a yellow wire for constant power i believe. it's easiest to find them behind your deck/cd changer. just cut the wires and slice into them before the connection point of your deck wiring harness

My 1998 chevy 4x4 brake lights work fine with the key off but when you turn the ignition on the brake lights go off

i had the same problem with a 94 chevy truck i know they are different years but chevys are funny vehicles try running a ground wire from your fire wall to your winshield wiper motor, just pull the wiper motor off of the fire wall and put the wire in place behind the motor and you should be good like i said it is worth a shot the same exact thing happened to my 94 and after painstaking hours of following and checking every wire a buddy suggested i try this because they have ground problems and somehow are connected with each other no idea but it worked for me... thanks sam barnett lol
i hope this helps
