I have Sony Ericsson HPR-20 handsfree (with radio) and I accidentally teared the wire away from the plug that is inserted to the phone.
So I found 6 different coloured wires in the handsfree wire (grren, red, white, blue, spiral-painted blue wire and non-insulated wire).
The problem is that there are only 5 contacts in the plug: MIC, SPK, VCC, GND and I can't read the last title - it's something like "B-".
It's clear that non-insulated wire is GND, but what about the other ones? What colour is MIC and what colour is SPK? Does anyone know it?

1. Use wire cutters/strippers to snip the old headphone plug off the cord. Purchase an exact replacement headphone plug at an electronics store.
2. Twist off the shell of the replacement plug and slide it and any insulating sleeve onto the headphone cord.
3. Using the wire cutters/strippers, remove 1 1/2 inches (4 cm) of the outer insulation from the headphone cord. You should find three wires: two insulated wires and one uninsulated wire, which is the ground.
4. Strip 1/2 inch (12 mm) of insulation from each of the insulated wires
5. Solder or screw the uninsulated ground wire to the plug terminal that is farthest from the plug tip
6. Solder the insulated wires to the other plug terminals. If you don't know which terminal on the plug is the right channel and which is the left, you can use a continuity tester (available at electronics or hardware stores) to find out, testing it first on the tip of the headphone jack, which is always the left channel.
7. Squeeze the plug clips together with a pair of pliers to secure the cord.
8. Slide the shell over the plug and screw the plug in place.

I have a similar problem but with an Ipod to Tapedeck adapter - yeah those old school soundtape adapters. When I strip the cable I found 7 (SEVEN!!) different cables. 1 Solid Green, 1 Solid Red, 1 Solid Blue, 1 Non-Insulated, 1 Spiral Painted Green, 1 Spiral Painted Red, and 1 Spiral Painted Yellow - which looks a lot like the non-Insulated cable.
I already go another headphone jack and stripped it, but only found the traditional 4 cables - 1 Green, 1 Red and 2 non-Insulated (ground). I will first try to match the Solid Green and Red, and the single non Insulated and use Black tape to test the combination. If this combination does not work I will assume that the Spiral Painted cables are ground for each channel.
Hope this helps!
If you have any experience with these 7 cable issue please let me know.
