The cables you use are what come from the speakers, but you will need to have a dedicated 2.1, 3.1, 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound card fitted, you cant split the sound channels from a normal stereo analogue sound card.

SOURCE: CONNECTING DVD/VCR TO CABLE BOX & TV ETC

If using 3 color RCA (r/w/y) the red and white is audio and should go into your stereo under video or AUX. The yellow is the only video cable you need, that should go to your TV aux in or video1 or video2. You can also put all 3 colors into the tv and then run another red/white OUT to the stereo AUX in and have stereo sound for whatever you are watching.

SOURCE: yes i need all the codes for my cl034 universal philips 4 remote

Symphonic - 0171
Apex - 0156

You can find the remote control codes for different brands of devices from
http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/codes-tv.shtml#tv

If none of the codes work then we have two other solutions:

1. Searching For Your Code

If you have tried all of the set-up codes for your brand of equipment ,or your brand is not listed, and you are still not able to get the unit to respond, try the following procedure to search for your code.
If you don't find a code that works, the remote will flash four times when you reach the end of all the codes for this device type.

  1. PRESS the button for the device you want to program, (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.), then RELEASE.
  2. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
  3. ENTER 9-9-1 (two blinks on the remote)
  4. ALTERNATE slowly between the POWER key and the DEVICE (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.) button until your device turns off. (On VCR, LD, and CD players use PLAY instead of POWER)
Make sure that the remote is pointed at your device during the search, You may have to press this sequences of buttons up to 100 times to search the entire library of codes.
  5. When your device turns OFF, PRESS the SETUP button and RELEASE it to lock in the code for your device.

2. Learn the buttons from the original

Line up your original remote and the head-to-head before completing the following steps.
  1. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice.
  2. PRESS 9 - 7 - 5, the red LED will flash twice.
  3. PRESS the DEVICE key where you wish to learn the function. The next 3 steps must be completed within 10 seconds.
  4. PRESS the button that will receive the learned function, the LED will flash rapidly.
  5. PRESS the button on the original remote to be learned.

Now you can repeat steps 3 through 5 to learn other functions onto other keys or press and hold SETUP until the Cinema's red light flashes twice to lock in your new feature. (If the red light does not blink twice, stop and repeat steps through 6).
To test the new feature, press and release the device key in which the new feature was learned followed by the key on which the feature was learned

Hope that helps!

BDP5012 Philips bluray dvd player

Hello
You are done the connections right. But look to the socket colours of both the devices, TV & DVD, so match. Yellow, is meant for video, and one among white is for audio. You have to select the input of the tV to [AV], to get the DVD connected to TV. When the input selection comes right, you will see the Logo of the DVD company on the screen of your tV. Some TVs will have AV-1, and AV-2. Try both SV selections. NB: You must power ON the DVD to get its Logo on TV screen. The wire you connected will look like this I assumes.

Good Morning, my lights triped and now my DVD player does not want to work, the light is coming on, and the hard drive is going on and off its not picking up on my TV it reads no signal

Hi,

Without knowing the set up of you system it difficult to come up with one answer. If you have it set up only via freeview or satilite then either you need to check to see that is on as well alternatively and commonly on these machine's when it powers up from cold it defaults to analouge ie. BBC 1 if thats the case then just press channel down button on the remote a couple of time to take you to the AV channels. Sorry if the answers are a bit basic but I don't have much info to go on. We have a philips up-grader dvd player and get color distortion

I would try hooking something else up to your tv that is hdmi compatible. If your tv looks fine, then you know it would be the dvd player. If it's the dvd player, then I would suggest getting a different brand completely. I have had alot of bad experiences myself and other people as well when it comes to the philips brand

How to hook up my dvd player to my cable box

Richard,

I would have to guess that you are hooking up a DVD recorder?

If you are then you take the video and audio cables out of the cable box and hook them in to the DVD R input plugs. The output wires go to the TV video/ audio in. Its just like hooking up a VCR.

Now if you are trying to hook the DVD player up to watch movies then you have to hook up the audio/video cables up from the DVD to the back of the TV into your Video 1/2 input. If you have the Component wires you hook them up the same way.

Now if your TV only has the one set of plugs (video/audio) then goto your local Audio/Video store and pick up the A/V cables that have the "Y" or "T" plug on one end.

I hope this helps you.
