I think i erased some program on the mp3 player and now even if there are music files on the mp3, the mp3 keeps saying it has no music

Sounds like you deleted the firmware on the device. If you give me the make and model number i will see if you can force a flash firmware update. As this can be done on some makes and models. If it is not one of those models it may no longer work. Thanks, Midwest-tek

Why when i go into my Coby mp610 music flies it shuts off

There is a firmware upgrade for the Coby 610, which will fix your players problems. You can find it at the cobyusa.com website by choosing 'Mp3 & Portable', then 'Mp3 & Mp4 Players', then your model 'MP610', from the support page. Or, here is the direct link to the file from Coby's servers.

ca041a9.jpg

Unpacking the zipfile from the Coby Website will give you a .PDF file with instructions and a program file to run.

Your music will be erased when you run this firmware update. The instructions suggest that even though your mp3 player won't startup properly, if you plug it into your computer you should be able to access it as a removable disk, and copy all your music to a temporary folder on your computer.

Here are the steps:

  1. Plug your MP610 into your computer.
  2. Copy all your music to a temporary folder.
  3. Disconnect your MP610 from your computer.
  4. Disconnect as many USB devices as possible from your computer (to simplify identifying the MP610 at a later step, and avoid damaging other devices by trying to load the MP610 firmware into them by mistake.)
  5. Run the Firmware Update program 'MP610 T LCD Firmware Update for file sys err.exe'
  6. You will see a screen with up to 24 numbered, empty boxes.
  7. Connect the MP610 to your computer. It will show up in one of the boxes.
  8. Once the MP3 player shows up, click on the Firmware Feature icon to start the firmware upgrade.
  9. After the firmware update is complete, you will receive a checkmark in the Firmware box.
  10. Disconnect the MP610.
  11. Close the firmware update software.
  12. Turn on the 610 to confirm it starts up and the display reads 'COBY'.
  13. Plug it back into your computer and copy your music back on to it.

I plug my coby mp3 n the computer can't read it

Here are instructions for a solution to your frozen Coby 610 problem. This works even though the MP3 player is having problems talking to your computer. They should communicate fine after this update.

Replacing the firmware of your Coby 610 MP3 Player will unfreeze it and help it act normally again. This will also fix the 'File System Error' that has been popping up with some Coby 610 players. You can find it at the cobyusa.com website by choosing 'Mp3 & Portable', then 'Mp3 & Mp4 Players', then your model 'MP610', from the support page. Or, here is the direct link to the file from Coby's servers.

No data and format error

hi mudy_romano, looks like you have formatted the whole player and erased the player's firmware(software it needs for playing) as well.
download program here:
http://support.sony-europe.com/dna/wm/nwf/nwf.aspx?site=odw_en_GB&m=NW-E003

install, connect player to USB-port do the firmware update and perhaps download the music manager as well to help you to copy the music files from your harddisk
good luck

hi,
u formated the data(mp3s) and the players
firmware with them.

do get the firmware installer here:

http://www.sony.co.uk/product/nws-e-series/nw-e107

reinstall the firmware and audio manager

and next time just erase all the mp3s only (via file manager or windows exploerer
instead of blanking the whole player :-)

I just fixed my issue. I went to the website listed here and reloaded my software. It erased everything, but I just loaded all my music back on after it reset. It now works and is good to go. http://voxrightnow.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/voxrightnow.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=2241

Reloading firmware on mp3 player

try downloading the MP3 player recovery tool from Creative's website (the tool contains the latest firmware update available -- 1.15.03). Plug your ZV+ into your PC, run the program and let it update the firmware. Then format, reload your music and try it.

Erased firwire by accident

try downloading the MP3 player recovery tool from Creative's website (the tool contains the latest firmware update available -- 1.15.03). Plug your ZV+ into your PC, run the program and let it update the firmware. Then format, reload your music and try it.

By the way, before updating the firmware, let the battery have a full charge, ok?

I hope it won't keep freezing on you after the update
