Original battery was ok until recently. The new battery is worst than the old battery. Why?

I have exactly the same problem. My V3 is now 3 years old and no longer holds much of a charge. I bought a basic Nokia in Bankok in July costing only £14 and this performs far better! Reception too has deteriorated dramatically so I bought a new battery online (non-original brand). No better so I complained to the battery provider and was sent a replacement. This was still no better so I visited Carphone Warehouse today and was told that it probably wasn't a battery problem. They advised that phones are not designed to last much more than a year!! I could check it in for repair but that wouldn't be cost-effective. Try downloading any available configuration updates they suggested. I connected my V3 to the internet via the supplied phone/USB cable, opened 'Motorola mobile phone tools' and found 3 updates that I have have now installed. I'll see if this has made a difference over Christmas and if so I'll let you know. Failing this it's a new phone for me I believe. Fingers crossed.......

That sounds like typical battery life for that phone.  When I owned one that's what I got on the weekends when my call volume was lower.

Batteries do wear out over time and some manufacturers don't have as good a quality as others. See Sony batteries.

Well it sounds like a combo of both. Definitly get the battery replaced again. The phone itself probably needs new software. take it your service provider's corp store to get the software updated.

Battery not holding a charge

Hi try this I had a new Blackberry which required charging every single day, take out battery and press and hold the on button on the phone for a min, then put battery back in and try charging again! mine is perfect now again.

Somebody told me that it's to do with static or something that builds up and flattens the batt.

Motorla Slvr L7 Won't hold charge

It depends on how much talking your doing. The Slvr is known for its low talk-time battery power. My slvr would last about 3 to 4 days on a charge, unless i was talking on it a lot. sometimes i would be charging it every other day. So it really all depends on the talk-time. Invest in a car charger for sure.

Battery won't charge.

hello,

normally many cell phones requires 6-10hrs for its batter to fully charge up. also i have seen it where battery can be brand new but doesn't have enough juice to hold the charge.
now as far as red light on charger, remember even if you have 99% charged batter and you plug in the charger it will show you red light on phone/cradle.

FYI- all brand new phones are covered with 30 days of warranty replacement with new phone. after 30 days it covers upto 1 year from the date of purchase with refurbished phones.

In your case i think it is just the battery, try having your provider replacing new battery if no luck again then my suggestion will be to replace your phone with new battery with in 30 days.

TY
