Insignia 32" LCD32 TV Red,Green,Blue,White,Black Screens- Cycling

I have a 32" LCD Insignis TV that cycles through red, gree, blue, white and black screens. No picture, no sound. S-Video doesn't work, nor does antenna input.

Any ideas?

After the TV was off for a week or so, it seems to be working.

What would cause the TV to go into what I would call a 'test mode' and I could not get it working.

Could this be the capacitor issue?

    Any ideas appreciated.

  • edrenckh Jan 01, 2009

I turned it on again today. It is back to the original problem. Cycling through the solid color screens.

Does the original solution still match up with this condition?

  • edrenckh Jan 01, 2009

It is the Insignia LS-LCD 32. Manufacture date September 2007. It is a replacement for my original one that went bad last year....

  • edrenckh Jan 01, 2009

The TV turns on and off with the remote and changes channels.

I can hear the program(s) that should be displayed, but no display. It only cycles the entire screen through the different colors.

  • edrenckh Jan 01, 2009

No warranty, already called Best Buy prior to posting the problem.

Is this a problem that I can just swap a board out?

  • edrenckh Jan 04, 2009

What part do I need to fix this problem?

  • edrenckh Jan 04, 2009

What would be the part number for the mainboard?

This could be caused by 1 of 2 things one would be a bad main board or a bad ir board both can be replaced easily. And you can find parts cheap buying used parts or by buying a exact model with a broken screen. Or feel free to call us at REDS REPAIR at 870-421-1294 we can find you a broken model and send you the boards. Thank you for choosing fix ya.

As stated, the most likely is the LCD controller board, that is the main board inside your TV, or a dafective LCD ribbon cable (color bands alternating).
However a short to the chassis, or a short on one of the other boards (inverter, tuner, IO etc.) can always cause erratic symptoms of this kind.
The TV should be tested by a technician before replacing the main board.

Here you find all parts for your specific model (32).

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Often, this type of fault indicates a defective digital display module. Alternately, this could be brought about by absence/low B+ to the digital display module from the power supply board. Common problem with the PSU are 3 X 680uf at 35 volt capacitors at the top left of the PSU board.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

Im trying to connect my sega dreamcast which has red white an yellow av cable only, however my insignia NS-32E570A11 led tv only has for component connection with the blue green n red, when i hooked it up,...

Sorry, this will not be easy....

You need to locate a composite to RGB converter box.

Your Sega outputs a composite signal - Video (yellow) and audio left/right (white/red).

The TV needs RGB (red/green/blue) inputs on the component connection...your composite signal divided by three. There are converter boxes out there for around 70 bucks or so.

Are you certain you do not have a yellow VIDEO IN jack on your set? Every LCD and LED TV I have experience with has at least one.

I'M TRYING TO HOOK UP MY INSIGNIA 42'' 1080P FLAT-PANEL LCD HDTV TO OUR DVD PLAYER USING THE COMPONENTS (RED, BLUE, GREEN, RED & WHITE CABLES) PROVIDED AND THE PICTURE IS IN BLACK & WHITE....

The three picture cords (red/blue/green) often are a little larger around than the sound cords (red/white). If they are they same size, they are often grouped separate by picture and sound. Double check to verify if you have the "red" cords correct. Good luck.

Lcd tv with wrong color on one pixel

LCD screens occasionally have what are called "Stuck pixels". There is a tutorial in wikihow which might help you out here:

http://www.fixya.com/manuals/w153177-fix_stuck_pixel_lcd_monitor

Try that and see if it helps. Stuck pixels are actually a slighty common problem.

Most likly the signal connector is loose or dirty. (input) this would cause the red, gree, blue or a combination to not be connected.
