Wont let me put songs onto it

I got my mp3 player back at christmas and suddenly a few weeks ago it doubled all my songs and they were all bad tracks (the copies where) and it would freeze so i deleted every song i had on there.. (the bad tracks wouldnt show up so i hoped if i deleted all of them then it would be fine) and it was.. until it decided not to let me put anyyy songs on it so now i have only 15 songs and it wont let me add any more. it just says error. i am doing everything it says but it always says error. i use windows media player. any suggestions. i soooo am ready to take it back. i tried it out on my parents computer and the same thing happened. i dont know what to do now.. please any suggestions would be very helpful.. i have ripped songs onto windows then clicked sync and put the songs i wanted to be synchronized onto the screen and clicked sync and it says one was syncronized (tho it wasnt) and then the rest are all errors.. thanks in advance

Umm..i have a suggestion... maybe there was a program in the player that wasnt meant to be deleted and WAS deleted by accident - maybe u should check if there is anything missing in your player other than the music that was lost. Im not sure this'll work but its just a check to make sure thing! bye

Bad track error. songs arent deleting after reformatting and resetting multiple amounts of times.

There are 2 ways to format an mp3 player - if you were formatting the mp3 player from "My Computer," then try reformatting from Windows Media Player instead - I have a "tips and tricks" entry on How to Format an Mp3 Player for details

If that doesn't work, then double-click on My Computer, double-click on the Sansa player, and go to the various folders that it lists - music, voice, etc. Delete the songs ONLY - do not delete the dat, bat, ini, inf, or other system files

Help

The issue you have described with your portable device in most cases can be resolved by formatting your device. Please follow these steps even if you have already attempted them once before.

Please note that this will remove all music from your device.

Formatting the device in Windows Media Player

1. Open Windows Media Player with your MP3 player connected to the computer

2. At the top of windows Media Player select the Sync tab at the top

3. The MP3 player should be recognized on the right hand side and say "Your Player Name"

4. Above the player name is a button that says "Format Storage Media1.gif" click this button to erase all the data1.gif from the player

5. Continue with the acknowledgement of erasing all data on disk.

6.Get a firmware upgrade done if you have not done so...

Deleting songs.

Isn't it that you just go to my computer and delete it there?
It says to delete it entirely from it.

Removing bad tracks

I beleive your player saves a lists as well as the song itself. the easiest way to fix it is to (if possible) use windows explorer, goto your player and look for a folder that says "albums" or "list", scroll thru and delete the folder of the songs that you have deleted.

Sansa is acting weird....

Well, you need to return it for a new one. If it has happened in so many few weeks, you need to. It sounds like you may have downloaded a virus. you are going to reboot it and or restart it, you have tried this so it sounds like it is just messed up. exchange it or send it in to get it reset. It will run you about $35. Thanks, Connie
