Question about Kenmore 73502 / 73504 / 73509 Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

Fridge freezer won't work after moving overseas

Our hoover fridge freezer has spent 12 weeks in sea freight container moving from UK to New Zealand.  We plugged it in on arrival and it chugs away as normal but after being on all night was not remotely cool although the elements at the back were very hot.  Tried turning off and leaving for a few days but still no different.  In the hoover is not a common make over here we don't know if its something simple to fix or whether it will cost us more to get it checked out and possibly replace parts than to buy a new fridge freezer.  Any suggestions?  Could the coolant have run out/evaporated in transit?  The front feet have been smashed off somehow too so we don't know if it has had a fall on its travels.
ANy advice much appreciated.

It may need to be re-gassed and repaired. But before you do its plainly been damaged in transit so you will be able make a claim agianst the transport company. Don't be shy call them and ask how to make a claim.

Our 4 year old MFI2568AES is freezing everything in the food storge area

It is very possible that the thermistor located inside and behind the fresh food sections upper light housing. If adjusting temperatures does no cause change then this part is high on the list of possibilities. The part is about $5.00 and I think the freight will be more. You can pick it up local. Or buy from one of our sponsors. If you would like the service manual please let me know, Sea Breeze

The fridge part of my fridge freezer keeps freezing everything,

Hello

I have the same problem and have talked to the manufacturer. They said to turn off the appliance for 24 hours then it should be good as new when you switch it back on. Obviously you'll have to find somewhere for your freezer contents. I'm going to try this myself tonight.

FRIDGE COMPARTMENT FREEZING

i had the same problem the sensor starts at the back of the pcb and snakes its way dow the back of the fridge into the freezer conpartment i ordered a new sensor thinking it was a temp sensor but turned out to be a defrost sensor compleat and utter hassel to fit due to the expanding foam i had to eventualy cut the block off that conects to the pcb and then reconecting it once i got the cable through the foam first 2 days seamed to work fine while there was nothing in it as soon as i put food in it again the fridge started to freeze everything again then about a week later it still ices up at the back the fridge but doesnt seam to freeze the food so much now so still unsure about it all
