Is it possible to recover missing pictures?

My Dad took pictures at my Graduation a couple of weeks ago but the batteries were low so he kept losing power. According to my Dad, everytime he took a picture he saw it on the display screen yet days later when he wanted to upload the pictures they had disappeared. Would it be possible to recover the images??

I don't think those picture can be recovered as those might have stored in the temporary memory for a while and every time he took another pic it might have over-written in the previous one..

Better remove the Micro SD card and try to connect to PC and check if its available in the card

STOP
do not write anything to your camera's removable memory card, otherwise you willt re-write the files and permanently lose your videos and pictures.
Install this recovery software called Tenorshare Photo Recovery.
From inside the software,navigate/choose your memory card letter( "D", "F", "G" ... ? ) and scan the section where it says "Raw Recovery", "Videos" or "Photos" . Scan the memory card and Set the destination folder(folder where recovered files will be saved) somewhere on your computer.
BTW, you can get this recovery software from
Tenorshare Photo Recovery for Windows
Tenorshare Photo Recovery for Mac
It will show you thumbnails for your pictures that it found on your memory card.
WARNING:there will be lots of recovered files,do not set the destination folder as your DESKTOP,otherwise you'll end up having 100000 files on your desktop... = total mess :)

Got a low votage msg couple of weeks ago and replaced the battery. Got the same msg a few weeks later; went away for a couple of days and when I came back car would not start. Took it to Pep Boys to run...

If the battery is not recharging while the car is running, bad connection between alternator and battery. If it is dying while sitting, but charging while running, something is draining it. What? Who knows. It could be anything from a clock on the radio to an engine fan that doesn't stop. Look for anything electrical that is on when the car isn't. ANYTHING. Even the smallest light can pull more juice than you'd expect. Good luck.

I've been using this camera for just over 2 years now with the same 1GB SD memory card. but just a week ago at my high school graduation party and ceremony, I've taken a decent amount of pictures(maybe...

"Card error" usually means the camera wants you to format the card in the camera but you should have downloaded the contents to your computer first using a card reader if necessary. Your "friends" should have warned you about that. Formatting completely erases the card and optimizes it for the camera it was formatted in.

I'm getting lines in photos & videos

That happened to my sister and it ended up saying that the photo's on the card were contaminated and they had been deleted. I used a program I have to recover them.
I got all the photos back. 196 from graduation
I tried to repair the card, took some more pics, but they had lines in them.
I figured it wasn't worth losing photos and told her to buy a new card.

Card not formatted

If you format the card you will lose your pictures. Try using a separate card reader to download your pictures. Also, if you can find a store (Walmart, etc.) that has a Kodak picture maker machine, you could try to print all the graduation pictures.

Canon S1- Camera doesn't save the pictures - What to do ???

No, it,s free. It's just that your answers are from hobbyists and knowitalls who reply when they have the time to stop by here (it's like Yahoo answers, but with geeks:).

Sounds like your memory card may be faulty. Take no more pics until you've recovered the missing photos, take the card out of the camera. Here's some freeware photo recovery software that should be what you're looking for (recommend the last one listed):
http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/recovering-those-accidentally-lost.html

You will need to use a flash card reader with this software. If you don't have one, get one, they're cheap:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_st?keywords=card+reader&rs=172282&page=1&rh=n%3A172282%2Ck%3Acard+reader&sort=price

And finally, recommend formatting the card in the camera after you've recovered the pictures. Look for a "Low Level" format option in the camera's menus. The format should help prevent this from happening again.
