Good be just about anything. This set is common for the regulator IC, the STR-X6456 regulator IC to go bad for starters, the flyback transformer goes bad and takes out the horizontal output transistor sometimes and then blows the main 10 amp fuse. I have also seen the convergence IC's go bad then the set dies because the main fuse blows out, the power supply will go bad because of a surge. If you have no TV repair knowledge, play it safe and have the set looked at by a pro. Good Luck

The power light flashes green likes it turning on then flashes red. Is there a fuse problem. I just replaced the bulb less than a month ago and it worked fine the last 3 weeks.

Good day!

That problem is usually happen when the power supply or main board have defective parts not fuse!.Lets find out the problem.

Follow this simple and easy procedure of troubleshooting:

  1. Remove the back cover of your TV.Loosening all screws at the back.
  2. After that,Try to look at the power supply. When you already find it,plug-in and power it on again to perform a voltage data.Check the 5vdc for the system board supply by using multimeter tester (range to DC).It should have 5vdc in actual reading or tolerance (+/-) 0.5vdc and also look for leak/bulge on top capacitors, replace if any.If the reading is OK and no bulge on top capacitors, the power supply is in good condition.
  3. Next,if the power supply is in good condition. The problem could be on system board and unfortunately that is not for D.I.Y because of very sensitive and complicated parts of that board. The only remedy for that is to buy a new system board.

I hope this solution will be helpful.Thank you for using FixYa.

Turn the tv on no picture no sound , new bulb 6 months ago. worked fine last night

One of the most common problems on this units, after the lamp, is the thermo-fuse. Its a little device that is install close to the lamp, it has a conector, usually black, with two wires; it should ck continuity. Ckeck that out. Good luck.

We have the same DLP set and had the same problem. The Color Wheel, P/N BP96-00250A, a $200 part needs replacement to eliminate your problem.

Fuse keeps blowing

it might be worth fixing but you will have to call a tech out to give you and estimate. When the fuse keeps blowing that means it is drawing to much current so it could be the power supply and that might not be that expensive. You best option is contacting pioneer and asking them where the closest authorized service center is.
