Bad motor most likely. Worth it to replace the motor, my opinion. Gas dryers are superior to electric ones.

My whirlpool dryer igniter glows but doesn't stay

Hi, You need to change the coils on the top of the gas valve. This is a very common problem with the newer gas dryers. We have them for $29.95 on out web site www.whilpoolpartssurplus.com
If I can assist you further, please let me know.

Thanks

The dryer runs but does not heat. Thoroughly cleaned.

The duct fuse must have continuity in order for power to get to the gas assembly even though she may run she won't heat if the fuse is blown. 53481c0.jpg
If that is good and you have power to the gas assembly nothing will happen if the flame sensor is dead. If the sensor is good then the next thing to check is the ignitor. MORE

No heat after a minute of drying

Your GAS dryer has no element.
You should remove the vent from the rear of the dryer.
Run on hi heat with no laundry.
Your exhaust temperature should be from 130 to 165 degrees.
If not you have a thermostat problem or a ignitor/gas valve problem.

I have a Whirlpool Gas Dryer LGV6848AWO.

the ignitor bar that lights the gas might not be coming on, the coils that open the gas valve in the dryer might not be opening the valve, or the flame sensor might be bad which would not allow power to the ignitor. these are the most common problems with whirlpool gas dryers

Gas dryer not heating up

Flash, did you check the thermal fuse in the back? On a gas dryer the drum will still turn if it's blown. check out the picture and post back.
