My blackberry Curve deleted all my text messages out of nowhere!

Well i was going to send a text, and when i opened my MMS and SMS folder, it said, no messages. I looked everywhere, and all of my texts have been deleted, along with my call log. The memory is fine, and the options says it keeps the texts forever, so i dont know what could have caused this. And, is there a way of getting those texts back?

Hello! I have the same problem. I have found that I take a lot of pictures for work and the pictures are stored on the phone. When the memory is nearly full my sms, emails and phone logs disappear.

Solution: I download my pictures and delete them from my phone to clear the memory. It has worked for me!

    no call log list

  • pwright7 Feb 26, 2009

my txt messages and phone log have vanished(although emails are still around). I thought it was sim card related but its not. The other weird thing that is going on is the phone will vibrate and flash like there's a new message or txt in my inbox and when i go to check there is nothing to be found. i press the u button to review unread messages and it indicates nothing meanwhile its still blinking at me like there's a new message. I went to the att store today and of course they said i need a new phone. Anyone have any knowledge on this matter?

AS stated before... It is a memory issue. The way to prevent it is by deleting pics from your phone. Once the phone has used up it's memory, it has to delete something. So to save pics and contacts, it will delete your call log as well as your text/emails. The best thing to is to get a memory card. Other than that, email your important texts and pic to yourself, so if it deletes your texts, they are still in your yahoo/gmail/ect....

I had to reset my phone. I also bought a media card for extra storage space. The customer service personn i spoke with said that for some reason the memory is thinking its full and its not. So i bought a media card and reset my phone. Problem solved

How do i retrieve text messages on a blackberry tour

On your main screen, press the BlackBerry button (the one with seven dots) to go to your Home folder. Scroll down to find the SMS and MMS folder -- the icon looks like a cell phone with a word bubble coming off of it. Click on this folder and you should see all of your text messages.

My blackberry shows unread email icon when I dont have any

Check in the SMS and MMS icon for a new Text, or Voice Mail Message Indication. If you can not locate an unread message in the SMS or Voicemail, then try removing and reseating the battery to reset the device and resync with your Provider's Network.

This issue only occurs when trying to send a SMS text message from within the call details screen of a call in the call log.
To avoid this issue, complete the following steps to send a SMS text message from the call log screen:

  1. Open the Phone application.
  2. Open the Call Log by clicking the middle button in the toolbar.
  3. Touch the call log/contact in the list without clicking the screen.
  4. Display the menu, then select SMS Text (Name/Number).
  5. If required, rotate the BlackBerry smartphone to switch to landscape mode.

Text messages wont send, delete, or change status

I think your mobile is affected by virus. I suggest you to format your memory card and flash your phone. Dont use the backup you have taken other than the contacts. Load other things manually and frehly. hope this helps.!!

I lose all my text messages and phone numbers

This is probably because it is running out of memory. Blackberries will automaticall delete your SMS/Emails Logs when it has run out of memory.

Check by going to Settings/options --> Status --> File Free Memory.

It is very low, then you will have to hard reset the device to clear the cache. By pulling out the battery while the device is on, leave it out for 30 seconds and put back in. This should increase the memory. Otherwise delete some apps of the device or clear out emails/sms to make space.

The BlackBerry smartphone user is unable to send a picture as an email message from the Media application of the BlackBerry smartphone. The Send option is not present on the menu when the email message is sent using an email account that is associated with the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

Although the current BlackBerry Internet Service supports large attachments or attachments that are in their native format, BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.0 does not.
A BlackBerry smartphone that is provisioned with the current BlackBerry Internet Service uses it as the default method for sending pictures from the camera. As a result, when attempting to send a picture attachment from an email account that is associated with the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, the Send option will be missing from the menu as the image is in native format and size.

Upgrade the BlackBerry Enterprise Server to software version 4.1 Service Pack 2 or later, since support for large attachments or attachments that are in their native format has been introduced in that version.

Follow the steps below to send the picture attachment from the Messages application on the BlackBerry smartphone:
  1. Select Messages on the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone.
  2. Press the Menu key.
  3. Select the Compose Email option from the menu.
  4. In the To field, enter the contact address where the email message is to be sent.
  5. Press the Menu key again.
  6. Select the Attach File option from the menu.
  7. Browse to and select the picture to be attached to the email message.
  8. Send the email message.
