do the system restore and that should resolve the problem. system restore is the process which takes the comp to back date configuration when everything was working fine.
alternately also you can uninstall the verison access manager update. check the updates by going to prog and feature in control pannel. click view installed updates and right click to uninstall.
To reboot the system click on Start and then on the shutdown menu choose restart or shutdown.
If this error happens with a bluescreen and white writing then you will have to press the power button for about 5 seconds to force it to shutdown.

Select it from the Empowering Technology and Utilities section.
Might be that no mixer device is installed in your system. Go to control panel/system/device manager to see whether audio devices have their drivers installed and enabled. if it's not right click on the device and click "enable". If still it does not work, try updating the driver by right clicking on the device and choosing "updater driver". If still, the problem is not solved, try uninstalling the driver. Reboot and let your system detects the audio device automatically. During the process, with your inet connection active, choose find driver from the internet.
