Question about Nintendo DS Games

NDS R4 Hi - I was hoping you could help. My daughter has a R4 loaded with games - however most of them dont load up and the NDS says "can not find data - switch off and reinsert card" - However I recently purchased anther for my son and came across same problem. After visiting this site I upgraded my sons and that has fixed the problem 100%. I therefore tried the same with my daughters and was unsuccessful as now the R4 doesnt load up at all not even to the menu. Just stays on black screen "loading". I thought I would try deleting all from hers and copying my sons across. Still with no success same problem. Strange thing is that when I put my daughters micro in my sons R4 it works 100%. When I put my sons micro in my daughters R4 - no good just same black screen "loading". It is as if there is a problem with R4 and not the data on the micro. Yet her R4 was working ( not correctly ) before the update.... Any Ideas????

The could not find save data error is to do with the games being badly pirated copys (yes all download games on the r4 are pirated) or it could be bad firmware

Im not 100% sure about this...I own a R4 myself. What I do notice if you use the wrong type of SD Card(Anything above 2GB) or use it in the wrong type of R4(SDHC Kernel in a Non-SDHC Card) It tends to get stuck at that loading screen.

Sometimes you can remedy this by taking the R4 out and the sd card out and using a air can or blowing on the parts in between(inside the DS, Inside the R4) and try it and it will sometimes fix that. Also a corrupted transfer of the kernel or a bad kernel can do that too.

Hope this helps.

Btw here are a few Kernel Links:
R4DS(Non-SDHC): www.r4ds.cn
R4DS(SDHC): www.r4ds.us

Hope this helps

R4 card will not work in dsi

Regular R4 cards won't work in the DSi console, you need the more updated R4i cards for that.

You can get the original ones (there are LOADS of fakes) from either DSCardWorld.com in the US, or try NDS-Gear.com as well if you're UK/Europe based.

Good luck!

Hi there,

It sounds like you updated your Nintendo DSi console and your R4i card is no longer working. The best thing to do is to buy a card that works with the newest 1.4.3 firmware. Cards that do this include:

Check out R4DSRevolutionCards.com (not a shop) for information about R4 cards / R4i cards in general, they explain the differences between loads of different cards. My favourite is the Supercard DSTWO though. I recommend DSCardWorld.com as a shop but NDS-Gear.com apparently has some good reviews too.

Good luck!

When the R4 card loaded up it deleted a lot of my

Honestly, first i would copy al of your ROMs to your computer, and if you want to keep you saved game, copy the .sav files also. Then after that, make sure you have the newest kernel on your computer. Then delete everything on your R4 card. correctly install your kernel on the card again (and if you dont know or remember how to do this, i have written a guide for it) and copy your roms (and .sav files!) back on to your R4 card. PS: it would be better to only copy the kernel at first, load the R4 card in you ds, then after that, load the roms and/or the .sav files.
