Question about Mitsubishi WS-65313 65" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

My 2000 65" Mitsubishi HDTV's on off switch broke. My husband thinks we need to buy a new one today. How expensive is it to repair and is it worth repairing? It had a beautiful picture and we've never had a problem with it.

If you have a remote that works the system, I would not worry about it to much.
The on and off switch is part of a board setup with other controls on it and they can be expensive to repair, depending on the repair center.

This was used as a menu board in a pizza shop and the screen has blown. what is needed to fix this ?

The screen is the most expensive part of the TV and the most difficult part to replace. Call a Best Buy store to see if repairs are worth it. Insignia is Best Buy's store brand manufactured by LG.

Screen broke

Screen broke? or did it crack? If so you need to buy a new TV. The replacement screen is worth more then cost of a new TV. If the screen is intact, you might new an inverter board.

I have an electrolux genesis upright vacuum that I bought used about 8 years ago. It has been A great vacuum the best I ever had. I thought the belt had come off so I took it in for repair. They called...

I think your hubby can fix it if he has tools and is fairly handy. In your place, I would go into Craigslist and look for that specific vacuum or one that someone is scrapping for parts. Failing that, you can buy new motors at I think they're about $35-$45. They have a live chat and toll free phone #. Unfortunately, they might ding you with shipping costs.
Good luck

My 3 yr old hit my 46" LCD TV screen with a toy, I think he broke the screen. where can I get a new screen & how hard is it to replace?

If really the screen is damaged (not not just the covering glass), you most probably won't be able to get a new screen. Maybe buying some other TV of the same model... Otherwise only service can order the screen and replace it.. But screens are the most expensive part of LCD TV, so it probably won't be good option.
In any way, get the TV to the service for look and price estimation. Then decide if you want to repair it or buy a new model.

Got a 50 inch lcd tv and we broke the screen

The screen itself is the most expensive part of the TV. Usually, a LCD screen of that size cost well over $3,000 for a single purchase from the supplier. The labor and the part will exceed the worth of the TV. It's best to buy a new TV at this point.

We have a Mitsubishi WD52525 television that is not working. I have been told it needs a "light engine" and this costs $1000 to repair. Considering the cost of a new television, it appears this is not a...

No there is not. If your TV needs a light engine, they are expensive parts, and there is no way around that type of repair. It's like when your car needs a timing belt. The part is cheap and you'd like to think there was a cheaper away around the labor cost, but there isn't. It isn't worth being repaired. Take a look at and take a look at their LCDs. They had a 42" LCD for $578.

Broken on-off switch for hp R707

I have the same issue...have had the camera 5 years (barely use in as new condition) and went to use it 6 months ago and 1/2 the power switch fell out when I went to turn it on. Then yesterday I turned it on and the whole thing fell out. So I resort to sticking a pencil in the end.
I called HP Canada today and was told the camera was old and they cant replace that part or offer any assistance except upgade to another HP camera at my expense. I realize it's 5 years old but like I mentioned I HARDLY USED I believe it's poor design by HP.
I will NEVER buy another HP camera because they were not helpful and were only interested in trying to get me to buy another camera.

TV has sound but no picture

Everything is worth fixing provided the price is right.  However, in this case it's probably not cost effective to repair the unit.  Start with the easier fixes, such as bulbs, etc.  Even then, some of the components can be quite expensive, or simply unavailable.  I would suggest getting a quote from a local repair shop in order to make an informed decision before you get to far into it.  You could end up spending just as much to repair it as you would on a new unit.
