Display/ rotating disc

How do I remove the turning dic from the display menu? I was trying to get a track to repeat now I cant clear the display.When I originally hit the display menuto follow the directions there were 2 tracks(1&2) displayed not play mode as the book said so I could not select the repeat- the book says to press menue /disply until Play mode comes up - it does not come up I keep going back to the original display -so I have the display screen I press -then I have the screen w/2 tracks and press again and there I am again at the main screen- I tried the jog switch - anyway I would just like the display screen cleared of the disc rotating - and I pressed the track 1 and track 2 to see what would happen but I do not see anything on the screen that any track is set but I probably have cd data somewhere so I would like to remove that too
