Question about Astatic 636L Noise Canceling Microphone Microphone

Open Question

Engine problems i have a 2006 h3 hummer. the fan belt usually squeaks on me when the weather is really cold or wet outside. within the past month the belt has been squeaking really bad. the past couple of days my cooling fan seemed to b makin really weird noises and almost a grindin noise some. then my engine started to overheat and my coolant level was almost completely gone. there is also a clear almost oily liquid sprayed out under my hood. my brother looked at my cooling fan and it did seem like it might b a little loose but dont know if thats how it should be or not. i want to konw what the problem might be and how hard to get it fixed. i am hopeing it all just has to do with a bad fan belt.

Akg c4000b hum

usually humming is caused by defective cables. Check if the cable is wired correctly. Open both XLR plugs and check:
Pin 1 shield
Pin 2 hot (usually red wire)
Pin 3 cold (black, blue or whatever)
Pinnumbers are written near pins usually.
If that doesn't help shake the cable for contact issues.
The microphone could have a broken shield connections as well. Maybe there's a small screw near the XLR output connector. Unscrew (sometimes this screw needs to be turned CLOCKWISE) and check connections.

For a few months the recording level on my NT2 would be very quite and then correct its self, but it is now almost none existent. Can you help

This is usually caused by component failure, and it will require service. On the NT2, the capsule can also fail, causing this problem. Condenser Microphone Mod Service

We have a problem with what sounds like the mic.

There are so many variables with sound systems, sometimes it's hard to isolate the problem. When I have a problem with the sound system at my church I usually try and force the problem again. In my experience it's usually been the cable that will go bad before the microphone. Try moving the cable around at the end where it plugs into the microphone, if you get any crackling or popping it usually means the cable has a short in it somewhere. Another problem I run into pretty often is that the channel on the soundboard is having problems. Try switching channels and see if the problem comes up again.

Microphone not working. I can hear people, but they can't hear me

Hi!

The plugs that they come with are substandard for regular removal.
(pluging in and out) the cable has no adequate strain relief causing the thin
cables inside to break. you will notice that it will crackle and temporarily come on
as you move the cable around near the plug end or where it joins the microphone.

Some times when people are engaged in conversation they play with the wire inadvertantly!!

i hope this has solved your problem.

take care.

Magic mic

Usually when something eletrontronic gets wet (like a mobile phone i drop in the toilet as long as you dont turn havent tried to turn it on until the inside dries and all power sources disconnected. (i waited 1 week b4 turning it on, if its easy to get inside by undoing a few screws then do so, other just wait for the greater good) all the electronics should work as did my mobile. If youve already run power through it i would expect the cuircuits are fried but you might be lucky
let it dry
hope its not too late
