If you have a Headset symbol stuck on your screen but have no headset
plugged in, its probably down due to the pop port at the bottom of the
handset. This normally shorts or fuses together inside the phone when exposed to some type of liquid. You will need to take this to a Nokia Care Point and they will need to check inside the handset for you.
If it has got wet, then it is not covered under the manufacturers warranty.
i had this happen to me recently and found out whats wrong the phones kinda slow and thinks the headphones are still plugged in and if you take out the battery and put it back in it saves that you had somthing plugged in and dosent help. For some people they can fix this as easily as plugging the headset back in and pulling it out slowly but for me this didnt work so what i did is, i turned on pocket tunes and you souldnt hear anything and make sure your sound is turned on, then take a small pin and stick it in the headphone jack and wiggle it around untill you hear somthing and then quickley pull out the pin. Hope this helps
I have this same exact problem!! here is what works for me to fix it.. i plug the hands-free headset half way into the phone and then tilt it down (to push the jack up toward the front of the phone). After that i am able to use the phone regular again (speakerphone and internal earpiece works again.) I find that i have to do this once a day. There seams to be a short or something on the whole jack piece.. sometimes i actually just use my finger to wiggle the outside of the 3.5mm jack on the phone and that fixes it to! but i also found that there is replacement pieces like this on EBAY.. http://cgi.ebay.com/FLEX-CABLE-EARPHONE-JACK-FOR-BLACKBERRY-CURVE-8900_W0QQitemZ350187872475QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item350187872475&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A2|294%3A50
Hi--First, make sure your "mute" function is off. Try holding both volume buttons at the same time for a second or two. If that doesn't help, while you're having a conversation, either with or without bluetooth, make sure your phone's volume is turned up. On a lot of phones the volume button will control both ringer and conversation volumes, but turning it up without the phone in use only affects the ringer volume. My husband thought there was something wrong with his bluetooth until we noticed his phone volume was set too low--not as noticeable on handset, but bluetooth apparently needs volume up pretty high!
THE phone's Headset Plug is stucked. Try to plug and Un-plug the headset many times for it will release. Best, Play a Music and try this on so when you haer the sound coming from the phone, it means it works
i dont have sms either on my blkberry 7520 nextel said my phone was not compatible but we have the option to mms which is a txt and a media message together so to send an sms just use the mms icon and as for your phone handheld not working try going to try going to ur phone icon on the home screen click the track wheel scroll down to options go to general options
