To connect as you describe you will need a tuner card as the 503MXE is a monitor rather than a receiver. Otherwise the only option is to connect a scart to the 5xBNC connectors (Input 2) but you will need to be sure that your digi box outputs RGB over scart. If you have the optional video card (PDA 5002) fitted then you can connect via the s-video connection (Input 3) assuming your digi box has an s-video output.

Need to connect vcr to receiver and tv to record local channels with roof top antenna

You don't give any details as to your devices to enable any really detailed information so I can just give you the basics. First the aerial lead from the roof top, goes in the RF in of the video. If it's the TV remove it and place it in the video. You then need another lead that goes in the video RF out - back to your TV antenna in. Once done both should now pick up TV signals. The only problem you might have is if the VCR doesn't have a digital tunner and you live in a digital only area. In which case you would have to connect a digi box to the VCR via a scart socket. and record by selecting the scart socket (say AV2) instead of the TV channel when you set the recording up.

How do you set up digi box with VHS recorderand Tv. Digi box has two scart leads

Take one scart from the digi-box & connect the other end to the TV, & the second scart on the digi-box can connect to the VCR. To record from the digi-box, the VCR must be set to the AUX input (or AV ). The TV will also be set to the AV input, this set up will let you watch digital channels & to record a digital source. Be aware depending on your type of digi-box, you may not be able to record & watch two different digital channels at the same time.

Hi Martin,

A wiring Schematic is not that you should be looking. What you need is large feeders to understand hot to connect to various ports to give your desired output.

Hii i cannot connect my tv to the dvd player , can u tell me how can i fix this problem

I wrote this down to connect at Digital Freeview box to TV and to Video. It works for me on a portable TV and I am a grannie so if I can do it ............ I did buy one of those scart boxes which allows 4 scart leads just like an electric plug multi socket, very cheap price. Hope this helps and Happy New Year.

Take the scart connector box lead to the digi box.

The scart from the TV and the scart from the Video both go to scart box.

TV aerial itself not plugged in or used.

Bottom video aerial to right digi hole
Another aerial lead (not aerial) from TV hole to left digi hole

Can't tune stations from freeview box to DVDR3380/5

You can only record freeview channels through your box.

Assuming the digi-box has two scart sockets, connect as follows:

  • Scart 1 or TV scart of the digi-box to the TV.
  • Scart 2 or VCR/DVD scart of the digi-box to scart 1 of the DVDR3380.
The TV aerial should already be connected through the digi-box and DVDR3380 to the TV

To record from the digi-box, select AV1 / E1 / EXT1 on the DVDR3380
If you are doing timer recordings, you will also need to leave the freeview box on the channel you wish to record, or set the freeview box timer.

Record from thompson dti6300-16 to a video recorder

Hi
the DTi 6300 has an RF modulator built in so it will send a signal down the aerial cable. just place the VCR after the Digi box in the Aerial chain and tune your vcr to it on a spare channel then you should be able to record.
Hope this helps
Steve
