I have this same exact problem!! here is what works for me to fix it.. i plug the hands-free headset half way into the phone and then tilt it down (to push the jack up toward the front of the phone). After that i am able to use the phone regular again (speakerphone and internal earpiece works again.) I find that i have to do this once a day. There seams to be a short or something on the whole jack piece.. sometimes i actually just use my finger to wiggle the outside of the 3.5mm jack on the phone and that fixes it to! but i also found that there is replacement pieces like this on EBAY..

Actually there is probably something tiny stuck inside the hands free headset piece.

Blackberry should have put a little cap on it to avoid this.

When this happens to me I just blow into the hands free jack and it starts working.

Now a days a put a piece of tape over it to avoid it happening in the future.

Hope this helps!

First, take out the battery and leave it our for 15 sec. Replace and try. In cas the problem persists, reload the blackberry handheld software by connecting it to the computer and running desktop manager and application loader. The software is available on the CD that comes with the device or also frrely downloadable from the service provider's website

The mouse/ scroll thing on my BlackBerry Curve is continuously moving upward. I try to go into messages and chats and i cant view them because the mouse keeps moving up to old messages in the chat. Can...

This is most likely caused by dirt.
There are a few steps to solve this and i am in no way liable if you break your phone. Things you should take note of before getting started.
  • Remove the battery.
  • unplug the phone from everything
  • remove any sdcard or other expansions
  • i would squeeze the excess alcohal from any q-tips prior to using.
  1. pry the trim ring off it has four clips dont push too hard or you'll break it. a small dental flosser works great.forested665_0.jpg
  2. Put the phone face down in your hand and the ball assembly will come out.forested665_1.jpg
  3. soak the assembly in rubbing alcohal, periodically you should rotate the ball and then resoak to get the dirt out.
  4. Clean the gold thing with a q-tip and rubbing alcohal.forested665_2.jpg
  5. allow all alcohal to evaporate.
  6. reassemble

The blackberry does not "see" the H270

not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I used another phone to pair up with the bluetooth and it worked. at the same time, I plugged the bluetooth into the charger and the blackberry saw it. I guess it needed to be charged.

Blackberry curve won't pair with my bluetooth headset

Hello,

Try the following. Hope this helps.

Okay,

1. Go into "Media" on your BlackBerry and enable incoming files (Menu-->Receive using bluetooth).
2. Find the file on your friend's device that you wish to send, and beam the said file accordingly.
2a. If you have not "paired" (created a friendship between) the two devices before, you will need to do this first...
2b. One of the devices will ask for a PIN code first and on this device you need to create a four-digit, numeric password that can be anything you like.
2c. On the second device, enter the four-digit, numeric password you created and follow the simple, on-screen prompts on both devices to complete the pairing (you can also pair the devices in advance by going into Menu-->Set Up Bluetooth).
2d. Depending on the devices being used and the time taken to complete the pairing, you may need to re-send the file (go back to step 1), otherwise, continue below...
3. When your friend's device tries to send you the file, your BlackBerry should ask you to name the file and where to save it; if you have not set the device as "trusted" in the bluetooth settings (Options-->Bluetooth-->your friend's device), you may need to approve the file transfer first though.
4. The file should now be on your device.

Note: by default, all
* Pictures are saved into /Device Memory/home/user/pictures or /Media Card/BlackBerry/pictures if you have a memory card.

* Sounds (including songs) are saved into /Device Memory/home/user/ringtones/ or /Media Card/BlackBerry/ringtones/ if you have a memory card.

* Videos are saved /Device Memory/home/user/videos or /Media Card/BlackBerry/videos if you have a memory card.

In other words, unless you specify somewhere else in step 3, this is where you will find your file.

And remember, your incoming file transfer WILL NOT WORK UNLESS YOU FIRST "PAIR" (CREATE A FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN) THE DEVICES, go into Media and CLICK MENU-->RECEIVE USING BLUETOOTH!!!

Trackball ceased moving vertically after pairing with a jabra headset for the first time

Usually the track ball went bad. If you're out of warranty there is a Blackberry Repair Guide that shows how to open a Blackberry and remove the track ball yourself, the part is available on ebay. There are also third party blackberry repair services that will do this for you, but this one can easily be handled using the DIY approach. It shouldn't have to do anything with the jabra headset, that was just a coincidence.
