What would cause incomplete combustion on burners and oven?

I have a Maytag model MGR577OBDQ using propane. The odor is strong when the oven is on and smells like incomplete combustion.

Look at oven burners while  they are lit. Is the flame coming from all of the holes. If not, see if the piolet or glow coil of ignitor is close enough to that side to make them light. Also make sure holes are not dirty (opened). The flame should be blue with just the tip red . If not adjust the air door to get more air and less gas. Their is also a gas ajustment on the oven gas valve on most. If the flame is jumping out of the hole, too much gas is coming through and you need to adjust the screw to get less gas flow. I hope I understood correctly and this is information that you need.

Strong gas odor only when oven is in operation?

If you're talking about the acrid smell immediately after starting the oven, that's aldehyde gas, a byproduct of cold gas combustion where the flame contacts the cold metal oven surfaces. That smell should disappear within the first minute or two, and it's entirely normal for a gas oven. If you're talking instead about the smell of fuel gas, then your burner may need to be adjusted; it may be running much too "rich".

I have a reddy heater 100 pro it stinks when it is going and burns my eyes

If you are using it inside, in an area that is not well ventilated, that is the problem. In addition, if this heater is in a work area and there are paint or stain fumes or anything similar, the heater is picking up those fumes and making them 100 times worse.

Also, is the heater has not been cleaned and service regularly, this also could cause the odor, due to incomplete combustion. Also, how old is the gas in the tank you're using. Old LP Gas can also cause the odors.

Those things listed above, are all things that can cause the problem you described. Resolving those should take care of the odor problem.

It may be that what you are smelling could be the odorant that is put in NatGas and propane (methyl mercaptan).

The black that you are seeing sounds like soot, or the products of incomplete combustion.

Try this: Mix several drops of dish washing detergent into a spray bottle and fill with water. With the spray nozzle set on stream, spray your pressured up connections and joints. Be patient, and look for bubbles being formed at any connections. Repair any leaks that you find, and re-test.

if your burners are dirty you will get incomplete combustion and this could cause the problem you described. be sure that the unit is for lp and not natural gas this situation could also cause the issue you describe.

It smells like something is burning smells like the gas is not burning very harsh odor that burns your eyes after a period of time

If it smells like an incomplete combustion smell, clean the burner first. I'm assuming it used to work and now doesn't? If it never worked correctly it may have the wrong jet in it. There is a jet for propane and one for natural gas. They do not interchange. If it smells like plastic burning, something probably got past the screen and fell into the burner.

Black sot from vent free gas fireplace

Thanks for your question,
your problem is either impingement on your log set, or a product of incomplete combustion, if you notice soot on your logs, then you will need to take them out, clean them, and reinstall them as to not have the flame touching them, you will need to clean the burners as well, make sure nothing is laying across the burners, as this too will cause sooting, as far as incomplete combustion, was this model a natural gas converted to propane or the other way around ? if so who ever converted it, did they adjust the gas valve according to specs? improper adjustment will cause sooting or hooking up a natural gas unit to propane will do this too, I will recommend using (Rutland White Off) to remove any soot from your glass, it works fantastic for this ! any ace hardware will carry it, please do not use windex or any other cleaner on the glass as it will more than likely leave a rainbow affect on your glass once the glass heats up, hope this was helpful to ya, please rate this solution, thanks agai

What could be wrong with a gas stove hot point(2 yrs old)that has lots of black in the oven when using and also black on bottoms of pans when using burners on top? it just started doing this...

The flame is 'yellow tipping'. This means there is incomplete combustion and will leave black soot on everything. Did you recently start using propane? If so the stove will need to be converted to propane use, or the incoming gas pressure is too high. You may need a gas professional to check the gas pressure.
