Hello Kitty sewing model 11706 (janome) feed dog does not feed

The feed dogs on the machine go up and down and do not feed the fabric through. The Manual only says to clean feed dogs. I have done that. Still not working, Tried every combination setting on the machine and no luck. Any suggestions on what is the cause of this problem or how I can fix it?

Check your stitch length regulator is not set on zero.

Remove the needleplate and clean out any lint from between teeth of feeddogs......while you are at it, clean around the bobbin area and remove any lint under bobbin case.

SOURCE: Raising and Lowering the feed dog on Janome 4900 MC

These machines are known to have this problem. The feed lift cam has a groove worn in it that won't allow the feed dogs to come back up. It is on the lower shaft and needs to be replaced. You can get the feed dogs back up by taking off the needle plate and lifting them up manually while turning the hand wheel. They should stay up until you drop them again.
Some people will not replace the cam and live with it.
good luck!

SOURCE: I have a Singer Stylist 513 & I cannot get the feed dogs raised.

you sewing machine's feeddog is called a pressure dial it is located on the left side of your sewing machine at the top above & to the left of the take up lever, it's a little dial it will have numbers on it, & possible a d on it for darning, move the dial to a number like 3 to 5 & see if it will start stitching.

Janome Machine will not feed material !!

If the fabric is not feeding, the feed dogs are probably not operating properly. Check that they have not been dropped below the needle plate (which is done when darning or free motion quilting). In this setting, the feed dogs never rise above the needle plate to grab and pull the fabric.

The other issue could be that the feed dogs are defective or perhaps seized.

Since you did not provide a model, I can provide only this assistance. It would be helpful to locate (search for make model manual) for your machine.

How can I open the Janome Sewing Pretty with Hello Kitty machine to put in bobbin?

There is a removable tray on the front. Pull it to the left. This will expose the bobbin door. Lift the clip on the bobbin case to remove and replace it on the hook.

Why is the needle not moving or feeding fabric but motor is running

the needle only sews,, it's the feed dogs in the needle plate area that feed the fabric thru the machine, if the feed dogs are in the up position then the machine will sew, if the machine is not sewing then the feed dogs need to be checked to see if the feed dog lever is up or down, look in the manual to see where the lever is and check it, if the lever up the then feed dogs will need to be checked to see if there is something's wrong with them at a sewing machine repair shop.

if your talking about the feed dogs that they are not up and the fabric is not being feed, then check in your manual to see if you can manually move the feed dogs to the up position so the sewing machine will sew. here is a link for a manual if you don't have one
http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/instruction-manual-janome-decor-excel-5018.aspx
if the information about the feed dogs is not in the manual then you'll have to contact a sewing machine repair shop about having the feed dogs checked to see if there is somthing wrong with them.

My Janome Harmony 1017 won't sew all the zigzag stitches. Stitches 5,7 and 8 bog down after just two or three stitches because the fabric isn't moving through the machine. Any suggestions?

when the fabric does not move then the feed dogs under the needle plate need to be checked to see if there up or down.
if the feed dogs are down then the lever or switch needs to be pushed up into the correct position
if the feed dogs are up & they are not moving the fabric like there suppose to, cause it's there job to move the fabric against the presser foot,, then they need to be check

the gears that do the zig zag stitches should be checked to make sure there not worn & weather they might need be be greased

Hello

Turn off the power. Remove the accessory compartment located in front of the machine, if applicable.

Open the hook cover that shields the bobbin area. Please note that you do not need to remove the bobbin case.

Locate the drop feed lever near the bobbin case. Some machines have the lever towards the back of the free arm. Press down on the lever and then move it to the next notch or position. The raised metal feed dogs should be visible through the openings on the needle plate. You may need to rotate the big balance wheel one rotation to engage the mechanism on some machine models. The metal teeth will then spring up.

Close the hook cover. Insert the accessory compartment, if applicable.

Turn on the power. Try test stitching a piece of fabric. The raised feed dogs should help guide the fabric under the presser foot.

Fabric feeding, then jamming

Hi,
If you are getting loops on the bottom side of your fabric then it is a TOP tension problem, usually the thread is not between the tension discs.
Here is a simple check: Thread the upper path and stop short of the eye of the needle. Drop the presser foot. Now if you pull on the thread you should feel the drag of the tension discs. Increasing the tension setting should make it harder to pull. Now while your pulling raise the presser foot. All tension should be gone and the thread will pull thru easily.
I have worked on a few Hello Kitty machines and usually there is a single screw to remove the nose cover, exposing the needle bar and slack arm assembly. The slack arm does just that, it takes up the loop and the tension discs keep it from pulling more thread off the spool. Look for some thread wrapped up in the mechanism and clear it if you can.
This is were I find most of the problems
Good luck!
