I got a piece of rope stuck in the trunk latch and now my trunk won't open. Is there any way to manually open the trunk without pushing the button under license plate?

Simple solution - your tbird has a mechanical trunk lock behind your driver seat on the face of the package shelf. Just use your key to open it.

lubricate the latch with a penetrating lubricant such as WD-40. Repeat as needed. J.

Thanks rogerburks, I tried that and actually can only ge the top portion of the panel off. I believe the trunk has to be open to remove the bottom portion. I was thibking there is something behind the panel where something like a slim jim can raise a lever up higher or something
yea ther is probley plastic things that push and hold the bottom it might be tricky but you might get your hand and arm in ther and fill around and mabey find the realeas i would say it opens like a car door it should go to your left or right
I got it out after removing the cargo carpet and unbolting a big black cover that was under the rug. This allowed me to get below eye level to look into the latch area. After cutting on the rope with a knife and wedging a big screw driver to turn the latch, I finally got it!! Took about a total time of 4 hours! Thanks for all your suggestions!
