Do you have system recovery discs? They should have originally come with you're computer.

If you insert the discs and then boot from them this should solve the problem.

Of course it will also completely format the hard-drive. So be prepared to loose and and all files you have on the system.

I HAVE AN ACER ASPRIE 5315 IT WONT POWER UP AND THE BATTERY LIGHT KEEPS BLINKING AND I CAN HERE I LIGHT CLICKING SOUND

Usually for a clicking sound it is the hard drive that is causing this. Try if you can still access safemode. Press F8 continuously after turning on the computer. If you can access that, backup your files and do a system restore to a previous date when the computer was working fine. If that wont work, reinstall the whole operating system. If still not resolved, replace the hard drive.

Acer asprie 5315 running xp sp2 system restore wont work, cant perform a system restore.

Boot to safe mode by pressng F8 as soon as you start the system,
Once you are in safe mode. try to access system restore. In safe mode you will get access to the system even if it faces a severe error.

If it is complete system restore (Restore to factory defaults) which you are looking for then press ctrl+F11 as soon as you start the computer. It will wipe the entire data and restore the system to its factory settings wiping out the entire data in the system.
