What you can do is take off the back pannel and there is a cord on the top of the board that looks like a computer board, there are many boards in the TV but the one I am talking about is twords the bottom where the video jacks plug in to the TV. Ok once you have located the pannel there is a cord on the top kinda tword the right side, it is many wires inside a black covering. What you need to do is just simply unplug it and plug it back in, do this as many times to try to get it to work.

When we turn our TV on we get sound, but our picture is distorted for about 15 min then it's clear. Any sug?

Your TV is about 5 years old.
If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

Vertical lines showing up after being on for awhile

Eh, I can't be too sure, but it sounds like it's either a heat issue, a signal issue, or a backlight issue. Either way, if it's still under warranty I'd send it in.

My Samsung LN52A650A LCD TV is displaying green shadows and lines after being turned on for 15 minutes. This has been isolated to the display as I get the same result from DVR or DV player.

May not be a do it yourself repair, could be main board or even a loose connection at a plug inside the display panel (fatal) or outside of it.

You know how to reset the tv to its factory setting, I think you are a technician. Second thing you can do is software update. Go to http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=KDL42V4100&LOC=3#div_pos_30 . If it doesn’t work. Replace the Main board (UB board). Part # A-1547-086-A Cost approx $320.

Knowledge obtain from: Repair experience on same symptom.
Parts reference: Andrews electronics, 800 289 0300.

TV turns on/off automatically at 1-2 mins intervals.

Replace the power supply, PN: BN44-00206A

It's easy to locate, but requires adjustments once it is installed. Panel voltages must be adjusted according the the specifications of the TV. There is a sticker on the back of the plasma panel which provides each voltage setting. You can reference this sticker to make the proper adjustment. Using a DMM, connected between chassis ground and the panel voltage you are adjusting, turn the adjustments on the power supply very slowly, until you are measuring the specified voltage within 0.5v. I hope this helps and good luck.
