Make sure the powr is on to the unit.
There should be a disconnect at the airhandler/furnace.

If it's a breaker, try flipping it off then on. If fuses, check the fuses.

Make sure you are actually getting power to the unit itself first.

If you are, you could have a bad transformer or low voltage fuse on the board is bad.

Does your T-stat have batteries? if so, replace them.

Check these items first, then we can go from there.

Have model md5tpa Pro-com wall heater. heater will not go out with thermostat, you have turn dial off.

If it worked before but won't work now, you could have a bad connection at one end or the other of the thermostat wire, no voltage from the 24v transformer, or a bad thermostat. Some thermostats use batteries in conjunction with 24v power. Check to see if yours does.

Controlled by wall thermostat. Heater has two wires, both ends, white/black

so my question is this is electric heat? it sounds it so next question is it 120 or 240 volt. but you will have a black and a white wire from your electric panel feeding the line side of the thermostat then another wire loading from the t-stat to the electric heat. i hope this helps. Thermostat is working, but display is blank

My thermostat used to go blank when heating. It was caused by the overheat protector inside the heater. That switch cuts the power to the heater and the thermostat. The heater could also be burned out. If it's a 24Volt system, the power supply could be bad.

No hot water at all but power to all elements and to thermostats is there a dip tube in the rheem model 71-40D

Water heater can test for 120V power on elements and thermostats at all times.
That's because thermostats turn off one leg of 240Volt circuit, and not both legs.
You mentioned thermostats and elements, implying two elements and two thermostats, so your water heater is 240Volt.
240Volt breaker might be bad on one leg.

Freezer is cold, but cold air is not circulating in refrigerator

Check freezer fan is working. If ice formed over freezer fan by working. It's a common problem due to irregular defrosting. Keep freezer setting temp at 5 degree. And check defrost timer, thermostat, heater are working properly.
Turn timer with small tip screw driver to shut off fridge. If not shut off, replace timer. Turn counter clockwise defrost thermostat. If fridge not shuts off replace defrost thermostat.Check heater by join the 2 wires in the defrost thermostat. And after 1 minute, unplug power and keep your arm on heater. If it's warm heater is o.k. Otherwise, replace heater.
Once heater starts work at regular interval controlled by thermostat and timer, defrost will be good and effective cooling will also be in fridge compartment.

No. However you may be able reset the thermostat to its factory setting.
Turn the thermostat off.
Shut of the gas and water supply to the unit.
Unplug or disconnect the unit from its electrical power source. Disconnect the thermostat from the heater.
Wait approximately 5 to minutes, and then reattach the thermostat wires to the heater.
Turn the water supply on and open the tub faucet to its hottest setting for about a minute.
Turn the faucet off and make sure no water water is flowing anywhere in the house.
Turn the gas supply back on.
Reconnect the thermostat wires to the heater.
Connect or turn the power supply back on.
Wait at least 2 minutes before turning the thermostat power button back on.
After the thermostat power button has be pressed, wait an additional 2 minutes before running water.
Test the heater at this time. Turn the water on at the farthest faucet to its hottest setting. measure the temperature with a cooking thermometer.
If you need to make adjustments to the water temperature, either up down, shut all the faucets off first.
The thermostat should read 100 degrees Fahrenheit when it first starts.
If you are receiving an error massage, consult with the manufacturer.
If the thermostat is reading the correct water temperature but the unit is not operating, there are other issue need to deal with. Let us know if this works or you need further assistance.

Electric water heater out. Already replaced elements and breaker. Getting power to the unit but no hot water. What now?

Have you reset thermostat on the heater, it will be the top thermostat right above the element. It will have a red reset button to press to reset. They will trip causing the heater not to work till it's reset or replaced due to thermostat gone bad. Chances are you may only have to reset it.

Please go to link below with to get some very helpful information on these topic's. If you replaced everything but the thermostat or reset it that's all left to hold out power to water heater. The thermostat is a safety device to protect the home owner. You may have had a element short out to trip it.
It will take 30 to 45 minutes to start to produce hot water after power comes back on.

I have 240 volts at thermostat and conection on the tank but nothing at the bottom element. no hot water either

Thermostat may be bad and not suppling power to lower thermostat and element.

Sounds like Thermostat not working properly if no power there..

Do you have power to top element and power going into top of bottom thermostat if it has one.
