- Hi, Thanks for advice but forgot to mention the problem with the dvd recording and nothing being recorded is not with any disc but the HDD
-   Same problem: message 'can't record', but it does record and playback on DVD, on HDD it only record (time is running), but there's no playback afterwards.
Maybe format HDD (but I have no remote, so I can't test this yet).-   M_Amsterdam

I can connect my Sony KDL40V4000 tv to my Sony RDR HX710 DVD recorder using scart lead and scart socket to record Analogue TV. (Line 1 ON RECORDER) If I change scart sockets on the TV from scart one to scart two, the connection becomes "smartlink" but when I try ro record from Line 1 on the tv, the pictire is blank.
Any suggestions?

My Sony RDR-HX710 don't recognise DVD-RW formatted with Nero. I can use them on the PC but not with the Sony recorder that don't recognise them and so I can' format them. What must I do? I use mainly verbatim 4x DVD+RW but happens the same with all other brands... Carlos jcmat@aeiou.pt
