Question about Projection Televisions

1 Answer

I have a two year old Samsung 26" HDTV that has lost two lines of pixils towards the top. Where do I take it to get it fixed, it is no longer under warranty. What approximately will it cost? I live in Olympia, WA 98502. I bought it in Eastern Washington and do not plan on going to that town again.

I called the 1-800 number for Samsung and got the name of a repair man in Renton, WA. I will speak with him about the potential cost and if it is worth fixing or just let it continue to decline. I do not need your services and do not want to spend $9 to find out where the repair man was.

Thank you for your time.

Sounds to me that the DM is the cause. If this model is 7-8 years old, it uses a DM that is no longer available or supported by Mitsubishi. You could confirm this by calling Mitsubishi at 1800-332-2119. This is there Customer Service Line.
Hope this helps,

You will need to replace the convergance IC's if the colors are no longer lined up and they won't line up using the tv's controls. Also, if the crt lenses have a lot of dust on them removing that will help the sharpness and brightness of the picture. Don't use canned air. Get a crt lens cloth.
