Polaroid TLU-01941W 19" LCD TV I can't get any digital channels to tune in, I had them once for about 20 minutes then they disapeared...I can't seem to access the configuration function to re-tune it! Has the digital tuner fried itself?

SOURCE: Olevia 537H digital tuner problem

I have the exact same problem with same symptoms. It was purchased from Target during their Black Friday sale in December, 2006. In 2007 I had the mainboard replaced under in home warranty to correct the static electricity pop that many people experienced. Then in early 2009 the digital tuner not working problem started. At first I could power off the set completely and upon repowering up it would work again for a while, but for the last few months nothing would get it working again, and yes I tried the "Bright Room" suggested elsewhere. I purchased a DVD recorder with a builtin NTSC/ATSC/Qam tuner (Panasonic DmR-EZ28) for $230 and hooked it up via the Composite jacks (HDMI would work also) and all now works, although the channel up/down function is quite slow. I was under the impression that the 537H came with a 3yr warranty (1 yr in home, 2 additional years parts) but when I contacted tech support to get a new mainboard sent out, discovered that the original Syntax Brillian company went bankrupt and service is now being handled by a company who says only 1 year warranty on all Olevia HDTVs. Replacement by them in your home is $318 and only a 90 day warranty on the service. Only other option that I can think of is use a cable or directTV settop box interface and connect it via HDMI.

If anyone can find the original warranty with the 1yr/3yr wording, I'd try going back to the retailer and get them to stand by that and send out a new main board, else if the cable or satelite settop box won't work for you keep looking for a remote tuner similar to the panasonic's functions without the dvd recording if you don't want that. Some of the new converter boxes that are almost free with the $40 government cuopons might work if they have the composite as well as the rf output, but will only detect ATSC not QAM and you'd have to experiment with getting the proper aspect ratio using the Olevia's remote's Aspect control.

Just got a 2nd hand TV model CT-90119 and need to know how to tune tv in for Playstation2 and is there an instruction manual available to download for free? Sam

Most likely you need the RF adaptor that the cable from PS2 plugs into before connecting to TV. There is an automatic switch that shifts the display from "TV" to "Game" when the game console is turned on. Tune TV to channel 3 or 4.

Hitachi T.V. remote CLU3842WL will not change channels.

There are two possibilities: either the channel memory has been lost due to the TV being unplugged for an extended period or the digital tuning system has a defective component. First thing to do is go into the TVs menu system and try to re-scan the channels. You may find that you can change channels after doing this. If its still not changing channel, the digital tuning board will have to replaced.

I have got a polaroid flat screen tv. model no. polaroid TLU 03711C. I have had this tv for less than a year, and it is still under warranty just. however over the last 4 months or so, when i first turn...

I had the same problem - It was due to these two tiny devices called "capacitors" which had blown. I replaced them (it only cost me £1!) and was really easy.
I wrote a guide on how to change the capacitors, there are pictures an d the guide is easy to follow. You can print, download or view the guide here - http://www.scribd.com/doc/13515584/Polaroid-TLU03711C-Replace-Capacitors-Guide

Grundig colour tv lost digital channels

I'm sorry, but I have not worked with Grundig TV's, radios yes, TV's no. However, The menu shouldn't be hidden. The first thing I would try would be to UNPLUG the set from the wall, wait about a minute and plug it in again. This action should reboot the micro processor. On some sets, there are two levels of menus, main and advanced. You would want "channel setup" and /or channel scan. You may also look in the back of the manual and see if it list some service dealers that you could call for help. I hope this helps.
