Question about Vivitar ViviCam 5100 Digital Camera
You cud try to re install the device, first you need to remove it though, 1. plug in camera and press disk drive does it computer make a sound when its plugged in, two beeps is good, 3 beeps is bad. eitherway, you'll want to remove this device so right click my computer press properties, press hardware tab, then device manager, goto imaging devices, right click vivicam 5100 and press uninstall, then at the bottom of the list goto ths usb devices at the bottom expand menu, you will see a list of devices, one will sau USB Mass storage device, right click press uninstall, then, if you want, u cud restart, dont think it is required tho, unplug camera boot PC up plug camera in, let it install its self, then it should work, good luck

Fixing communication problem between camera and the PC is not a easy task and sometime you may have to invest a lot of time and come out no result. Easiest way is purchase a "CARD READER" from any electronic mega store for about $10-18. Plug it into back of your PC and setup. Now take the card out from your Vivicam and insert it into the card reader and you are done. If not sure then ask any of your family or friend age between 12 to 29 years old and it should take them just 10 minutes to make it ready for you. Good luck.
