My acer updatedwhat ever that is and now cannot get my Facebook back to 14th may.Had to join up again and all my time line has gone and have to start all my games from th beginng again.

There are all kinds of possible updates out there, Microsoft, Acer, program and driver updates. More specific information on what the update messages said would help pin things down. Your description sounds more like a factory reset, which restores the laptop to the condition it was in when received from the factory, wiping out all files saved previous to the reset. Are you also missing applications you installed previously? That would also point to some kind of factory reset. Most factory resets have to be user initiated. Another type of situation that can lead to what you describe is if there was an upgrade to your operating system, say from XP to Windows 7 or 8. Those kind of upgrades can wipe stored files also.

How do i reset my Toshiba satellite a135 s4467 yo factory setting

If you are talking about the software, you can boot to the restoration partition and run Windows setup again. This will wipe all personal data and will reset the computer to the state it was in the day you first bought it.

Toshiba reset

the factory reset data is on the old drive.
On the bottom of your laptop there is a windows key it also states the version (home or pro) 32 bit or 64 bit.
You might have luck going to a computer store and ask them to burn a copy of your version of windows. costs me about $10.
using your windows key from the bottom of your laptop and that CD you can install windows (while wiping the drive of any previous data if you choose) this of course is not a factory reset it is a clean install of windows.
You will need to download some drivers from the laptop manufactures web site, for optimum results.
good luck.
let me know if this helps.

How to undo factory reset on toshiba laptop?

No! once a factory reset has been performed the hard drive in that has been wiped clean, now having said that it is possible to use recovery software that may be able to reconstruct some of your files. I would suggest a paid program better chance of recovery, check Type recovery or hard drive recovery, also check online for more options.

I want to reset it

Unlike other laptops, Acer laptops integrate a computer management utility called 'Acer eRecovery Management' to create backup of hard drive data, create restore point, reinstall applications & drivers, and reset Acer laptop to factory setting.

Step 1: Before starting your Acer laptop, ensure that there is no external storage device attached to it. Now start your laptop.

Step 2: Press 'Alt + F10' when the laptop starts booting, and wait for a moment while Windows loads the reset files.

Step 3: When 'Acer eRecovery Management' window appears, select 'Restore System from factory default' and click 'Next' to continue.

Step 4: Again click 'Next' to reset your Acer laptop. This process will erase all data from your hard disk and reset your Acer laptop to original factory settings.

Step 5: Click 'OK' in the notification window to begin the the resetting operation. Now wait while your Acer laptop is reset to factory settings.

Tips: You can also create a backup copy of your laptop data before factory reset. Simply click 'Backup' in 'Acer eRecovery Management' window.

Tried to reboot to factory settings

You have to make sure when going through the setup (if given the option) to install a clean copy and not install windows to another directory. If you have access to a floppy disk drive an easier way would to be to create a dos boot disk and reformat your c:drive. Make sure you do not have any data on this laptop you want to save. If that does not work you can try to get a DOS program called FDISK. It will wipe out the hard drive partitions so that you can reload your laptop from scratch. Let us know how it goes.
