Jawbone bluetooth does not charge - Cell Phones

I have the original jawbone and use a rubber band to connect it tightly enough to the charger to get it charged. I also have a Jawbone2 which has a magnetic connection to the charger and it starts to charge (shows the red light) but in a few short minutes shows white and is NOT charged. Turn it on and it alternatively blinks white and red. This is the third replacement - 4th one - that I've gotten and can't figure out what to do.

My Jawbone 2 also won't charge! When i plug it in, it briefly displays the red light then it turns to white after 2 seconds. However, there is not even enough power to start up the Jaw bone...

My problem is similar-- My charger fits tightly and when I first plug the headset into it, the red light breifly glows but the white "charged" light never does come on, even after four hours. I am concerned the headset isnot charging as it takes forever to turn on and the decending beeps signaling it is shutting off work sporadically.

  • Anonymous May 12, 2009

I did not use my Jawbone 2 for about 5 months. When I tried to charge it, the light stayed red for less than 30 minutes--I thought there must have been some residual charge left in it. However, now I can't set the pairing mode. When I turn it on, it will flash red like it is low on battery. If I press once, it then will flash white; press again and it will flash red. I don;t have the receipt, so I can't take it back. :-(

My jawbone was not charging at all, but then I looked at the prongs on the charger and I saw that one of them was shorter than the others, so I got a pair of small needle nose pliers and gently pulled on it. It returned to its normal length and I plugged it up. It is now charging normally.
Jawbone should design a better charging system.

You, sir, are a genius! My Jawbone has been gathering dust in a drawer for six months. I exhausted my options with Aliph support, and was convinced it was an internal problem. Never thought about the contacts being too short...gently pulled the contacts, put it on the charger, and slowly it came back to life! Thank you!!

  • Asho23 Jan 24, 2011

i have the same issue and have also noticed that one of the prongs are shorter than the others but no matter what I do with pliers or tweezers I cannot pull the prong back out level with the other prongs.

My prongs are all very short, and none are bent. I was told a hard reset would be better for this solution, but as it comes back afterwards, I think that there's a problem with the charge cable. Ask Aliph for a new charge kit.

SOURCE: cannot pair lg voyager with jawbone bluetooth.

Mine wouldn't pair either so I went to the jawbone site and I did this and it worked the first time.

For Jawbone ICON, while the power is off, press and hold down the Talk button and slide the power switch on. When the LED starts to flash red and white alternately, release the Talk button.

1. Press the OK Key.

2. Highlight SETTINGS & TOOLS and press the OK Key.

3. Select Bluetooth Menu.

4. Select Add New Device. (If Bluetooth power is set to off, you will be prompted to turn power on. Select Yes and press the OK key.)

5. Highlight Jawbone and press the OK Key.
Enter the PIN "0000" (be sure to enter four zeroes and not the letter "O") and press the OK Key.

Jawbone up wont charge

It may be the problem of the charger or the battery, please check them. If the battery is unable to charge or keep charge then replace it.
If the charger is unable to supply sufficient charge or no charge then replace it with a new one.

How do i pair my jawbone bluetooth headset to my envy touch?

I found this on another website and it worked for me.

"I was also having a lot of difficulty getting my Jawbone II or "new Jawbone" into pairing mode. I finally ended up carefully removing the outer plastic shield. It popped off without breaking anything and then I was able to easily press BOTH the noise shield button AND the talk button. With the plastic cover OFF, I was able to put my Jawbone into pairing mode on the FIRST TRY!"

My Treo 755p will recognizes my new jawbone but will not connect. It seems to skip the step where I am supposed to enter a password into to connect to the jawbone. Any ideas? Josh

Delete any other bluetooth devices paired to your phone. Then, for the Palm Treo 755p . . .
To pair the Palm Treo 755p handset with the Jawbone, perform the steps listed below:
  1. Set the Jawbone to Pairing Mode.
    • For the Original Jawbone, press and hold down the Noise Shield button for at least three seconds until the LED Indicator Light flashes red.
    • For the New Jawbone, press and hold down both the NoiseAssassin™ Button and the Talk Button for at least three seconds until the LED Indicator Light flashes red and white alternately.
  2. Press Applications and select Bluetooth.
  3. Select Bluetooth On.
  4. Select Setup Devices.
  5. Select Trusted Devices.
  6. Select Add Device. (The Discovery icon appears, indicating that the discovery process is active.)
  7. Select the Show pick list and select Nearby devices.
  8. Select Jawbone from the Discovery Results list, and then select OK.
  9. Enter the PIN "0000" (be sure you are entering four zeroes and not the letter "O".) and select OK.
  10. Select Done, and then select Done again to return to the Bluetooth screen.
Your phone should now be paired with the Jawbone.

Iphone and headset

Is this the first time you're pairing iPhone and jawbone or it's been working before?
If this is the first time,
1. Go to settings-general-bluetooth and turn on the bluetooth on your iPhone 2. Press and hold the button above the LED light until the LED light flashes Red and White 3. Go to your iPhone and click on Jawbone and it should connect.
If it's been working before:
1. Make sure Jawbone is fully charged. 2. Press and hold the button below the LED until white light blinks 3. Go to iPhone make sure bluetooth is on press Jawbone to connect
If this procedure fails try the to follow the First Time Pairing Instruction

Hope this works for you.
