Using a lexar jumpdrive in car audio

I have a newly purchased Virtual Reality Sound Labs VR3 CD player with SD/USB options. Per the manual I should be able to just plug the 1 gig Lexar JumpDrive with the Power To Go software on it, into the slot on the radio and songs begin to play. That's not happening. I confirmed the formatting of the drive to be FAT as per the radio's manual. How can I get this to work? HELP

Also, does it matter on the size of the stick? Because i have a 16gb one that i got for the headunit and it only has music on it and is FAT32 and it still doesn't work.! Yet i tried my 64mb college stick and that worked fine with the music and that has all sorts of work on it too.
Is there some sort of firmware update?

Yeah sanme issue with a memorex 2 gig here, my solution was to get a different thumb drive, the vr 3 is finnicky at best, the sd card reader is just as picky and intermittent with certain cards. i am not an audio noob either. jusy try a different drive. the kingston works great and it has the same smart drive progs on it.

I would recommend trying a clean thumb drive with no software, only mp3/wma files. Having software and other files that are not audio may cause problems.

My VR3 DVD/CD player only plays DVDs. Also when i plug in my USB connection or AV connection for my IPOD neither one work and never have. I tried the CD player cleaner to no avail.

well, it seems that a DVD to iPod converter can meet your needs.
i am using one can easily convert almost all kinds of DVD movies to my iPod, and it works well for me.

The time on my vr3 cd player is set as military time how do i switch it back?

it is probably set on 24 hour instead of 12... go back in and reset the time.... hold the hours down until you reach the desired hour..... you may have to pass through the 24 hours to get to the 12 hours
