There is a little hole on the bottom left of the unit labeled reset. Push a paper clip end/pen into the hole and hold it down. The unit resets.

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I when turn on my Maestro 4250 the screen is all white and I don't see any menu.

Plug it into your computer to see if it recognizes it. Perform a software update from magellan's website. If it still has the white screen, press the reset button with a pen.

If none of that works, then your unit may be defective. Call magellan for a warranty replacement.

I tried to upgrade my Magellan Maestro GPS 4250 with the new firmware that Magellan sent. In the process, I accidentally erased all my data in my 4250 and now inoperable. Please help. Thank you.

if you still have the original DVD that came with the device, i think you can use that to upload them maps and other info, but of course this will just be like having the device brand new.

My magellan maestro 4250 is taking longer to reroute than usual, what may be going on?

Try resetting the unit, there is a reset slot at the bottom of your unit and buy resetting it, sometimes this helps.

Good Luck

I updated my magellan 4250 to v4.86 and now it will not work with the car charger. Screen states that USB is connected and I should follow prompts on PC screen. It work fine before the upgrade.

turn it on and hook it back up to the computer and once it has installed, use the safely remove hardware wizard to remove the 4250 from your computer, then plug it into your car again...if that fails, turn it on then try the reset on the side (little pin hole) use a paperc clip to reset it.

if you need further help, just reply to this post.

Our Magellan Maestro 4250, came on by itself and will not turn off.

is it plugged to AC charge when it comes on?

If not seek out the RESET hole and place a fine pin or paper clip end in and reset the unit

Magellan 4250 blue screen, not able to reset

This may mean that the GPS was formatted and there is no data on it. So basically, you can't do anything with it because all the maps and software were deleted.

No a practical solution, but at least you will get your device repair, after being on hold for 40 minutes I spoke to a very nice rep, unfortunately evethough she didn't admit it, it seems a software problem with the new 2008/2009 map update, in other words no way to fix it, you need to send it for repair, make sure you tell them to update the device with the new 2008/2009 Maps, if not you will have the same problem later on, Good Luck
