Are you trying to delete the operating system and your data or only your data?

Are you getting ready to dispose of the computer, or are you trying to get it back to out of box state?

Can you post the brand and model of the computer. Some computers have a built in recovery system that will reset it like it was when purchased. The best way to find out is to go to the computer manufacturers website and click on support. You can usually find your restore and recovery direction there.

You mean you want to delete all your files? For system restore, you can go to "start-programs-accessories-system tools-systemrestore".

Erase information from computer

If You are familiar with the windows installation, you can reinstall windows. During installation, the system asks You about partition where You want to install windows. So: 1. Select option Delete partition, and answer the question of the system "yes". This option erase All your existing information. 2. Create the partition on the same disc. 3. Install the windows on the same partition. That's all.
If You have another partitions or disc, just format it. And don't forget backup Your personal data!
In any case, is much better to sell the computer with the operation system recently installed - it works much better than a PC with used OS. Best regards.

System Restore

All your files are now marked as not in use. What this means is they could be "undeleted" if some went about doing so. Over time they will get overwritten has the pc is used more and more. If you are worried about someone recovering your data then you need to do a wipe of your hard drive using a program like DBAN. Then you'd need a recovery cd handy to restore the pc, since after doing the wipe the hard drive will be completely erased... Hope that helps.

Sounds like you may need a data recovery company to try and get it back for you. Doing this is not cheap, it can cost a lot of money, so you best get a quote first before you decide. The cost of recovery may not be worth the data you want back. At any rate, I found one company in a search for you...
